Missouri a Must Win??

Imo it is a MUST WIN! We have run the so called "gauntlet" and got that 1 signature win we were looking for. Most fans would have taken a 4-4 record at this stage before the season.

Now its time for bUTch to start building on this foundation he speaks of and it starts this week. A win this week makes people forget the UA game and fires us up for the Barn and a potential run through November. A loss brings out many second guessers on VolNation and if compiled with a loss to the Barn could potentially lead us through another miserable finish. Not to mention recruits possible decommiting

With that said, I believe we beat these top 10 imposters (Mizzou) and set the stage for a huge "bonus" game against the Barn next week. If our D plays like they did against UGA and SC, we will shut them down. All we need is Dobbs to make a few plays and our receivers to catch the friggin ball!!

Just my humble opinion....GO VOLS!!:hi:

1. There won't be decommitments if we lose the next 2 games. I'd say most if not all of our commitments understand that the goal this year is to go to a bowl. If there is a decommitment, then it likely means that we told the person to look elsewhere.

2. None of these next 2 games are must wins. A 6-6 finish isn't great, but it gets us into a bowl. Personally, I think we will finish 7-5, but I won't be upset with 6-6.

IF we can get to 6-6 and a bowl game- this will have been a good year. I think we have a better chance of beating Auburn, bc this team does not travel well. Younger guys look really nervous to me when playing away from Knoxville. I repeat , I will take 6-6 right now and I don't care if its a win over Vandy, Mo, or the Tigers. Anything over 6-6 is a GREAT year. It could still go to 5-7 real easy.

1. If we finish 5-7, this year is a disappointment.

2. I really don't see how candy or kensucky is going to beat us.

I think the Mizzou game is winnable. Must win, I don't know about that. But we have stood toe to toe with some heavyweight's in the East and beat one that beat Mizzou, at Mizzou. To think we cannot win there is negative. Their stadium is about the size of MSU, not intimidating. We need to start fast and kill the will. GBO!

There would be nothing sweeter than to go up there and knock them off their high horse especially after all the crap they talked last yr after they come to Neyland and beat us.

The most humiliating thing was watching the Doolster run out the clock to go to OT. Have never heard boos like that in Neyland.

4-6 is not a good place to be before going against Vandy and UK. That is the point I am trying to make. Missouri is not as good as Auburn imo. Thus, this is a must win in order to take the pressure off the Barn game.

You know it is sad. We do not have enough talent to say this is a must win. Now I hope we win but it is not a must win.

I'm sorry, but I just can't bring myself to believe that Mizzou can beat Tennessee. I know they did it last year but it still doesn't seem logical that they should be favored. Shows how much respect I have for that program I guess.

I like your confidence, but Missouri is much better this year unfortunately. They didn't go into Athens and beat uga - even an injury riddled uga - by two TDs and then turn around and beat the gators by two TDs at home without having something going on. And they played the backup QB against the gators also.

I unfortunately think the chances of Tennessee winning are less than 50-50, but I we do have a shot.

One things for sure...they ain't bammer! :)

Although this game is not a must win the "opportunity" is substantial.
I was so excited and proud to see the Vols upend USCjr and to see Vol fans finally get to celebrate obtaining that elusive victory was awesome.
A win at Missouri helps regain momentum with players and fans alike that I believe is infectious.
Riding that wave on to Auburn may just be the spark we need to keep the rise alive!
Go vols!
Sick em Butch!

so far great opportunity and great challenge have led to nothing but demoralizing beat downs from all three road games this season be it scared coaching and ho hmmm performances by the players in the first half. this is a must win to get a sell out crowd in neyland against the barn.

Vandy and UK are MUST wins. Let's get 6 wins and go to a bowl. Play a cupcake from the CUSA in the Liberty Bowl and go into the offseason with momentum.

In no way is this a MUST-WIN for where this Tennessee team is in their development as a program.
I almost just look at Missouri and Auburn as opportunities for Dobbs to get into his groove, so that we can win the last two of the year...the real must-win games.
