is questionable Saturday per ESPN and has been throwing. I hope he does not play because we can not contain mobile QB's.

I believe separated shoulder. Thought they said his season was over. If not it will be if he plays against the Big Orange, we have been known to take out a few players this year by being physical.

What exactly was Franklin's injury? Knee related? Shoulder?

Shoulder separated I think. Supposed to be out 3-5 weeks. I think this Sat is week 3 for him. They'd be smart to not risk him getting further hurt by coming back too soon but then again Spurrier rolled the dice too and it happened to work out. Be interesting to see what they decide if the game goes down to the wire.

If Franklin's passing the ball with any kind of zip only three weeks later, then he's some kind of superhuman.

Shoulder separation really hampers a QB.

I don't think they'll play him anyway. Maty Mauk has played well enough that I don't think you risk injuring James Franklin further.

All it takes is one good blow to the shoulder. And once or twice a game or half a QB is gonna take a hit.

Dobbs starting or not, Mauk starting or not. Dobbs (see article) throwing mechanics not right. Inaccurate in practice.

All this is, is Coach Speak. we will see come Saturaday. My bets are Dobbs and Mauk Start. We may see Ferguson and Franklin in the game we may not.

Agreed. I don't really see how he could come in and throw without it affecting him. But desperate times call for desperate measure. A mizzou fan at work said he would rather them bench him till the sec champ game if they got there.

agree, smokescreen on Dobbs. No reason to give Mizz any info. You know the kid is practicing lights out in practice now that he has basically a week to prepare and be the man instead of coming in during a game. I am confident he will play well.

They determined it was not a separated shoulder but a strain instead. Doesn't mean he will play - would be risky imo but they may pull a Conner Shaw if things are not going well.

They said the injury was a 3-5 week recovery time.

He must have not known the injury's actuality or it's range of recovery time.

Mauk completed only 4 passes the second half of last game (10 total) for a whopping 40%.

Unless you're saying he's played well enough as far as Tennessee goes, in which case I agree

Let franklin come in. Get big Dan to "accidentally" fall on him in the pile to break him in half

Franklin returned from injury against us last year also. FWIW, he was really rusty in the first half but warmed up in the second.

Given the way we have played better in the second half this year, I almost WANT him to come back. :)

Disagree. Would rather play them at full strength. Would not want anyone saying we beat their B-team. I want no room for discussion when we win.

At this point a W is a W and that's all that matters. It doesn't matter if they field their band and we beat dey azz. Beating a 1 loss team is beating a 1 loss team no matter who they decide to field IMO.
