Mitch Daniels will not run

His truce on social issues joined maccaca and give taiwan nukes in the annals of idiotic gaffes that torpedo careers. CNP said no.

It will be interesting how much support Pawlenty can gather from social conservatives. Iowa will tell the tale. If Rick Perry is in he takes those Huck and even some wealthy Barbour backers.

What did you just say? Can you repeat that in English?

Pat Buchanan (give taiwan nukes) and George Allen (maccaca) had promising GOP primary runs ruined with dumb statements. When Mitch Daniels said the GOP needed a truce on social issues he ended his chances.

CNP is a group whose support Daniels needed to have a chance.

Disappointed.

I'm on the Cain Train officially.
I'm right there with you . . . but I'm hanging out a window in case something better rolls by.

It will be interesting to see just how big a push the Tea Party can give him.

I think Perry, Christie, Palin and a few others are just sitting back to access the wreckage before determining whether it's worth it to expend the energy to take on an incumbent President.

Yep - of the two, Christie has a shot. Perry wouldn't be competitive IMHO

I can't believe we're not hearing about SOMEBODY from the Senate making a run at it. I can't ever remember there being no Senators in the race.

This is a blow for the GOP field. I do think he would of been one of the frontrunners for the GOP nomination.

Washington isn't exactly popular. The outsider theme is being played again. Of course, others are fervently clamoring for executive experience.

Christie is the best shot the Repubs have. I don't know his level of interest, but it seems he's been awfully quiet about his intentions. Maybe something from his past he doesn't want to have exposed? Pure speculatin on my part.

They pulled out all the stops against him in NJ, you'd think that if something was there they'd have found it. They made the effort to remind everyone he's portly, so they mustn't have had many bullets in the cylinder.

not only that but Christie defeated John Corzine, who I believe is a billionaire and had nearly limitless funding compared to Christie.
