I live in Little Rock and was able to see him in the state championship game last night against West Memphis. He has all the tools and is ranked by Rivals as the #2 QB in the nation. This would devastate the Razorback fans who have talked about nothing else on the local sports radio shows. They are already counting on him to be the starter next year. Plus his high school coach is expected to get a position on the Razorback staff. I for one really hope he comes to TN.

From the Commercial Appeal article . . . As one of the nation's top senior QBs and having committed to Arkansas, Mustain in particular was under the microscope.
Mustain's commitment to the Razorbacks has been under much scrutiny since David Cutcliffe was re-hired as Tennessee's offensive coordinator.
Cutcliffe was recruiting Mustain during his brief stint as an assistant under Charlie Weis at Notre Dame. Springdale offensive tackle Bartley Webb already had committed to the Irish.
But when Cutcliffe left South Bend after having triple-bypass surgery and took a year off from coaching, Mustain ended up pledging his future to the Hogs.
Now, Mustain confirmed Saturday, Cutcliffe has re-entered the picture along with the Vols.
After leading the Bulldogs to the title and fielding questions about playing in the same stadium for Arkansas next season, Mustain indicated he has yet to make a final decision on his college
"We'll sit down Monday and talk about it," said Mustain, confirming he has been in contact with Cutcliffe of late.
"I've talked to the Tennessee coaches," he added. "We expected we'd get calls (despite making a public commitment to Arkansas). That's recruiting. A lot of things can happen between now and Feb. 1."
As for Mustain's pledge to Arkansas, he said, "It is what it is."
What verbal commitments are is non-binding until a player signs a letter of intent. The football signing period doesn't begin until February.

That would be a big pick-up. Let's hope Cut can make him a Vol. Better us than UF, Miami, ND, Michigan or Arkansas. Arkansas?? Who wants to play at Arkansas??

TX was in on him earlier in the process; however, he picked Arky over us. I'd absolutely love to see him go to TN. He's a stud. I could be wrong but I'm under the impression that his committment helped get Nuttjob another year at Arky. Seems like he was on the big-time hot seat right around the time Mustain committed.

I don't know why he'd stay at Arky over TN. TN had a fluke down year. Arky has done very little since joining the SEC. Plus, at TN he'll have a hell of a QB coach.

If we get Mustain, then what happens to Crompton? I for one, don't want another QB rotation in a couple of years.

He's pretty small to be the no. 2 QB prospect in the nation (6'2", 190 lb).

Why is this guy so special if you have seen him play in person?

Arkansas has offered his high school coach a position on Arkies staff. They want Mustain badly.

Anyone have any links to any Arkansas message boards? Wonder what they are saying about Mustain?

I think this is going to be very interesting. Cutcliffe is going to attract some major QB recruits due to the Manning history.

Nope, I think he's here for awhile...he left once...now he's back...and the OC job, while extremely important, still doesn't carry the kind of pressure in a HC position.

He has it made in K-town...good program...a lot of respect...healthy situation all the way around, if you ask me.

I don't think he will pursue another HC position...just my thoughts!

he said in his acceptance speech that he still wanted to be a head coach.

Sorry. They don't have computers in Arkansas, yet. I did, however, find some really informative writing on a gas station stall in North Little Rock.
