Hadn't really followed ECU, but Mizzou is horrible.

ECU hasn't been good since Lincoln Riley moved on to the OC at OU and they canned Ruffin McNeill.

I still think there was more to the dismissal of McNeill than was reported.

Its not the defense, its the offense... generally, your chances of success long-term playing Missouri or Texas AM type ball is slim in the SEC... in the West they would be either last or next to last - depending on your definition of success.

5-7 against the SEC West... two of those victories are against the other flag football team Texas AM. I hope they keep it going... hopefully they hire Chip Kelly and keep this weak sauce going. I thought when LSU played them last year it was weakest SEC team I had ever seen since I have been watching LSU. They really only had one guy playing -- Beckner , the rest played powder puff football like TAM.

Yeah, and their current HC (Barry Odom) was the DC before Pinkel retired. He's more at fault for these defensive performances than his current DC is. Maybe he gave them back to their DC before this season, but Odom stripped their DC of playcalling duties at some point during last season. Their defense was awful last year too.

I know expectations are different there and they couldn't hire a big name head coach even if they wanted to, but I thought that the Odom promotion after Pinkel retired seemed like a quick, half-ass promote-from-within thing. They might be regretting that.
