At this time, since he only just entered, there are no specific schools named as being interested yet, but Brown's size (6-1, 200 pounds) and experience are expected to be of interest to potential suitors.

A graduate of Minneapolis (Minn.) North, Brown was a big recruit for the Panthers. He was a three-star per 247Sports.

He quickly backed up that up earning FCS Defensive Freshman of the Year in 2019 after recording 77 tackles and six interceptions. He was also a First Team All-American per Phil Steele and Hero Sports.

In the spring of 2021, he played in an abbreviated season and started in seven games, recording 30 tackles. In the fall of 2021, he played in seven games, recording 33 tackles and an interception before missing the rest of the year with an injury.

I didn't think we were taking anyone until the Spring?

Might be a better strategy. We will know what we have with the 2023 recruiting signees, including available schollys. Also we will know what good to great players who would be starters for other teams will get the itch to move and prove themselves.

We will also know if we lose any other players after Spring.

We've already seen the exodus of second-string from Bama and Georgia begin. It would be better if we could take guys now and have them for Spring practice. But unfortunately, we apparently don't have room, so we have to wait. Hopefully we'll see more talent hit the portal in the Spring, and hopefully, they'll want to come here.

I don’t understand why we didn’t ask 2-3 of our freshmen to enroll in June

Far from a perfect indicator but there are no Coach/Staff follows except Trey Johnson and it's not recent. USC nor Liberty offered during his initial recruiting, which was Trey's past jobs.

Because there is a good chance it means they go to a different school.

This. Plus it’s still all about the HS kids when building your future. Getting them enrolled early is huge. I love we have so many early enrollees. Increases odds they make early impact. Transfer portal is used to catch up at spots as a bridge.
