'24 MO EDGE Jayshawn Ross

Really like this guy as an Edge prospect. Weird recruitment in that he basically has said he's not that involved with it himself but rather has a guardian handling (!). But here are some tidbits that excite me (all from 247 analysts having seen him at camps):

1) "He’s a terror off the edge and reminds me of a stronger, somewhat nastier Chandavian Bradley."

2) "Though he’s being recruited primarily as an edge, Ross plays wide receiver for the Empire 7-on-7 outfit. He’s every bit of 6-foot-4, and though his listed weight is 220 pounds, he appears much closer to 240. The 247Sports Composite ranks Ross as the No. 146 overall player and No. 15 edge rusher in the 2024 cycle"

Note that this was in February and as late as this article on March 6th, Ross was the #111 overall player in the country. Not sure why he's dropped so significantly given his performances at camps, but I think it's worth noting...

College football recruiting rankings 2024: Elijah Rushing, TJ Capers headline top 10 EDGE prospects in class (247sports.com)

He won't take OVs until the season so plenty of time here for both parties to see where each is respectively, but a super intriguing prospect who camped at UT's 2nd Night at Neyland as both an Edge and TE.

He has now dropped to #314 in the 24/7 composite rankings. For some reason this kid just continues to plummet.
