Mo permanently ineligible

No what I'm saying is dealing with an Agent is a HUGE no-no. And as much as I hate the NCAA, they have been pretty consistent on handing out punishments related to agents. Every player is told over and over and over not to deal with them. Dix didn't deal with agent. Johnny dealt with an autograph broker but there was no hard proof. They have wire receipts, furniture receipts etc.. for Bray, Mo, Fluker and the others. What I'm saying is the comparison will be between the players that dealt with the agent rep.

I agree Bama will probably skate. However that's when everyone can accurately compare punishments. Mo vs Fluker. That was my only point. A lot of people here can't step back and take the emotion out of it and compare apples to apples. This case involves agents and should only be compared to other cases where players dealt with agents.
So its more of a No-No to deal with a agent that has nothing to do with the University than Ha-Ha dealing with a CURRENT FOOTBALL STAFF MEMBER and now he is back playing and Mo is out for the year?! Butch Please.....

Wow how shortsighted. You are completely missing it aren't you? When an athlete accepts money, from anyone (sorry to tell you but that includes coaches) its a big no no. Also the fact that the Bama coach gave him the money shows that they knew how to cheat and get away with it. It doesn't matter if someone gets money from an agent, a booster, a coach or a fan. IT IS STILL BREAKING THE RULES!!!! Therefore the punishments should be the same. There should never be a distinction between an agent or anyone else.

The NCAA didn't make Mo take the money

I know they are inconsistent, but don't put yourself in that place. Mo can't blame anyone but himself

I agree with the sentiment, but that doesn't let the NCAA off the hook by having different rules for different kids, schools, etc.

Ugg! No need to resort to name calling, I'm simply stating facts. Here's a link for you that says the Ex-Bama player is connected to not 1 but 3 agents. Google can be a very useful website in the future. Reading Comprehension(Me) vs. Selective reasoning(You)

Y! SPORTS

Without even reading, the article which I will, I will state my reading comprehension is fine. Yahoo originated the investigation from the beginning to end of this article I will be willing to bet that they are not going to contradict their orginal article. Again, I feel as though a lot of fans are getting caught in the media ad trap. It sells viewership and makes money. The SI article regarding OSU came out 7 days earlier and what has happened.

All this is is a bunch of junk journalism handing the NCAA completed but loose journalistic investigative reporting. Mo Couch should have just said "nothing". He would probably be playing tomorrow. Glad he was honest about it because in a way it indicates what kind of coach we have and the influence he has with these players.

Oh well, equality. If you take money from an asst coach or an agent it makes no difference the punishment should be consistent across the board. Yahoo gets viewership, the NCAA gains monetarily from their decisions (Ohio State & NCG) and the player gets it in the end. How many Agents has the NCAA gone after?

If they were trying to cheat why would they self-report the incident, suspend the coach, etc.?

Clark Griswold released a statement concerning the NCAA and their handling of this case.
quote
"I want them brought right here, with a big ribbon on their head, and I want to look them straight in the eye and I want to tell them what a cheap, lying, no-good, rotten, four-flushing, low-life, snake-licking, dirt-eating, inbred, overstuffed, ignorant, blood-sucking, dog-kissing, brainless, hopeless, heartless, fat-ass, bug-eyed, stiff-legged, spotty-lipped, worm-headed sack of monkey ship they are! Hallelujah! Holy ship! Where's the Tylenol?"

Mo was dumb
Mo took cash
Mo can't play no more

It's all Mo's fault
Not the NCAA's

Mo made a terrible decision.
He now has to live with it.
He should be disqualified.
If he were at another school, all the people downing the NCAA would be praising it

Yeah this all correct but other players did the same thing and yet they are still playing football. That's the point NCAA picks and chooses players, teams and rules to punish.

Helluva recruiting tool for bama to use against us.
Come to bama, get paid thousands, and get off for it.
Go to Tennessee, get paid a few hundred, and end of your career.

Based on this decision by the NCAA it looks like there might be a good chance that Tennessee and bama may have to forfeit games.

That sucks. He should sue.
Yep...I said beforehand, when the NCAA dragged their feet on the decision prior to the SC game, that he should just go ahead and get "lawyered-up." Join the major federal class-action lawsuit against the NCAA...for profiting off the football athletes while punishing them for trying to do the same. They are going to lose that battle and all the dominoes will start to fall.

In fact, if was Mo, I'd get my attorney to grant an interview on ESPN, and publicly invite other current players to do the same (join the lawsuit in droves)

Heard exactly the opposite yesterday on various local sports radio shows. Not going to happen.

Mo needs a boot up his azz. So does all of them that participated in this. They knew it was against the rules. They knew it could cause severe penalties for their programs. They selfishly did it anyway. None of them should ever be trusted to do the right thing again. Not in college and not in the NFL.

Reality can sometimes stink.
