Wow! I feel like you can really hear remorse and embarrassment in the girl's voice. If she really was a bad kid she'd probably still try to get snarky with mom on the video.
I could be wrong, but I believe this will work nicely for the mother. Well done. Do what you gotta do.

"Are you a freak?"

"Do you even know anything about being a freak?"

"You barely know how to wipe your ass good, but you're a freak?"

"You still have a bed time."

"Tell them you still watch Disney channel."

A bit harsh maybe, but good to see mom taking a stand.

I will admit that I laughed about the freak part.

Thank God social media wasn't around when I was a kid. I dread dealing with it as a parent.

I, for one, am glad I didn't grow up in the social media era, where everyone has a camera on them at all times. :whistling:

This is awesome. I love it. If you live a life of shame, it is is bad. But shame can teach life lessons as I am sure this girl just learned.

Here's the problem. That 13yr old girl (along with a majority of kids her age) don't even know what the word "shame" means.

She will know now. It takes a real Mother and Father to show kids the respect for others and themselves. And Mom and Dad can let there kids run wild and be a friend. Parents..... Don't be a friend to your kids. Be their mother and fathers. It is what they need.

Kid seeks attention by making a freaky facebook page.
Mom seeks attention by making a public shaming video.

I can see where she gets it.

I see your point, however how exactly would you have gone about this? I'm pretty sure she went about it this because of the medium her daughter used. I could be wrong.

Public shaming isn't necessarily my punishment of choice, but I actually think it might be somewhat effective in this case.

It's hard to say how I would handle this. My kids (ages 5, 7 and 11) do not know much about the behavior the daughter has apparently displayed.

I'm with you on this. My kids are 5 & 7. Hopefully, I get my point across at this early age that it doesn't come to this.

This. I love my kids more than my own life. I play with them as much as I can, but I discipline them anytime its needed and they know I will. I'm like a few others, thank God there was no social media when I was growing up!
