And it obvious its was. We even allocated 18 million back to athletics from Cheek's pockets.

My, how I love the way you lie, Dave.

heck, when they have 8,000 for the spring game- they're going to start to really worry about money.

We opened it for Strong, probably the others (and, yes, we were ready to throw a truckload at Chuckie). But dang, they just didn't want to come here. Get over it.

I doubt money was an issue. 18 million given back to the AD over the NEXT 3 YEARS is not what people think IMO. 9 million of that was gone before we even have it. Buyouts for Dooley and company will take 1/2 that. Butch Jones and staff will run another 6-7 million a year. His buyout was 1.4 million. The 18 million is gone PLUS. Gundy was interviewed and would have required 4 million +. Strong was apparently offered 4 million +. Hart was trying to hire top coaches. IMO, we got Strong for 60% the price in Butch Jones. Hart made a smart decision. If coaches are not interested in the job, they will not take the job just because you throw a little more cash at them. Jones wanted the job. He turned down an SEC job and a PAC12 job hoping to get the Tennessee job. That is the kind of guy I want. He WANTS to be here.

That does at least help the sting a little. Turning down other jobs and then taking this one does say alot about the guy. Especially when everyone else turned us down. He had a decent job at Cincy an probably could have stayed there for years to come.
