This just in from collegebcs.com ........
"The BCS honchos are probably breathing a big sigh of relief over the fact that the first release of the ratings is next week and not this week. I say "probably," because they may not even know how embarrassing it would have been for them. Both Colley and Anderson-Hester published erroneous ratings this week. Colley might have had his corrected in time for BCS publication. I alerted him to his error before the typical Monday afternoon BCS release time. However, Anderson-Hester wasn't published until sometime on Tuesday, the day after the typical BCS release time. They have been notified as well, but those ratings remain inaccurate as of Tuesday evening, which is why they are not updated on my BCS ratings page.
I am not writing this to pick on these guys or suggest that they do not know what they're doing. Misteaks are rare, and none of us humans are immune. However, I am concerned that nobody at BCS HQ seems to be validating these numbers. I say that because I was told that the BCS computation and publication machine went through a dry run this weekend, and these errors weren't caught until I saw them. If I were the BCS people, I would not want to depend on me or anyone else outside their structure to spot these errors. I'd want to make sure they were right before I went to press."
