The news just said incentives on home appliances. Rebates of $50-$200 on energy efficient models. The program is set to begin October.

What else can they find to give away our tax dollars on?

Two points:

1. They've finally understand economic stimulus - these plans do stimulate economic activity compared to the tripe in the "Stimulus" bill.

2. While they stimulate economic activity, they basically kick the can down the road by encouraging forward buying. Car sales will plummet in the near future. If this goes through for appliances they can expect the same.

I honestly don't think the Obama administration can see or think that far ahead.

Cash for Coaches... now your athletic program can trade in your old, outdated football coach and receive $6 million in incentives towards his buyout and/or the hiring of a new coach.

Cash for Cache... now your local Jihadist can trade in his cache of weapons in exchange for amnesty, $10,000 in cash and an autographed picture with Barack Davis Obama.

Causing inflation by increasing the supply of money through deficit spending is about the only way to tax accumulated wealth without "raising taxes". Nothing new.
