More likely to win the national title this year...

Clemson. Bama just isn't going to have the horses to pull the wagon that far and still be in shape when they get there. Georgia will get them and I think maybe one other team may trip them up.

It seems that's the state of college football at the moment. You have ~5 elite teams, and then the rest. Makes sense right now that the Big 12 would be decided between Texas and OU, but you know E$PN is already salivating at the thought of a Tua/Hurts match up.
No doubt and you’re certainly right that we seem stuck in Groundhogs Day. I almost took OU but decided TX to mix it up. I think the TX schedule in conference is a little easier but they’re similar. If TX beats LSU they won’t lose more than 1.

Lawrence wasn't quite ready to be the starter at that point - yes, they don't win that game without Bryant, who had a great game against A&M.

The biggest thing I see people doing with Lawrence and Clemson this year is they're looking at his performance in the CFP title game and assuming that is going to be replicated in each game this season. This "greatest NFL prospect ever" stuff...that might end up being true, but it is largely based off his performance in a single game last year. Don't get me wrong - he did absolutely torch what was thought to be a great defense in a huge game, but it was also one game.
I agree. That’s what happens these days though. People throw out extreme views on as little input as possible. I still think the jury is out on Kirby Smart so I’m certainly not going to judge a QB on one game. Those 4 D-linemen that left weren’t just tremendous talent that’s now gone. They were tremendous leaders last year on that team. That’s tough to replace.

I think you have to take Alabama/Clemson over the field. Just too much talent and depth. Their second string players would likely be a top ten team.
