Vice President Joe Biden's staff lock journalist in closet to stop him talking to guests | Mail Online

Interesting way to avoid the press.

An aide to Vice President Joe Biden has apologised to a reporter who was locked in a closet for hours after he was invited to cover a Florida political fundraiser because they did not want him talking with the guests.

The best part:

The incident is especially embarrassing for the administration because it comes at a time when the White House has been condemning the treatment of journalists trying to report in Libya.
Just ten days ago, President Obama’s spokesman Jay Carney told reporters: ‘journalists should be protected and allowed to do their work.’

add this to obama only calling on reporters on his list and bush looks like an open book by comparison.

Funny part is the man is only partial way through his first term. Hope there is only one term because if they are two, the comedians will be spared from the unemployement line but the rest of the country will be hurting.

Maybe its symbolic. Maybe the reporter is covering his/her sexuality again.
No, really something should be done but nothing will

hate to be repetitive but. . . can you imagine if bush did this?

It works both ways...can you imagine if Obama selectively classified/de-classified information based on political gain instead of legitimate national security threats?

Come on, RJD......not you.

Anyone of a thousand people could attempt that argument and I wouldn't blink - but not you, man. You're better than the ol' two wrongs nonsense.

There is a lot of this two wrongs nonsense going on lately. When it comes to Obama...point out the hypocrisy, criticize the policies...I have no problem with it. But there seems to be a lot of this "what if Bush did this" and "Obama is the first president to ever" insinuations going on here.

I'm no Obama fan, but some of this petty and indicitive of the same crap the left did when Bush was in office. If we are going to lower the playing field, then I will play along.

I don't even know who you are anymore.

But, I do know that you're better than this. Much better. I will await your return to reason.

There is just as much petty crap coming from the right as there was from the left when Bush was president. That's all I'm saying. There is plenty of stuff to be legitimately critical of when it comes to the Obama administration.

I just don't see this as one of those things.

The crap is equal, it just seems different depending on what news source/blogs you pay attention to. I have the local conservative talk radio station and NPR right next to eachother in my car, the conservative one went on about it, NPR barely mentioned it.

who said obama is the first president ever to do this crap? i'm talking about a party and a candidate (see obama) that was up in arms over all the HORRIBLE things bush was doing who is now looking the other way when their guy does it. the point here is obama painted himself as someone disgusted by this type of actions and then goes ahead and does the exact same thing. if he didn't build his campaign on this garbage I assure you i wouldn't be pissed about it.

I find that hard to believe.

Just FYI, I don't like Obama either. However, much of this is faux outrage, IMO.

As the OP I'll chime in that I didn't post this in outrage (hence the Biden joke). More than anything I thought it was a humorous example of how this administration continues violating it's core reason for election - being a different kind of administration.

Well, i guess I really don't view this as an "administration" thing, especially when the guy who minded the reporter got chewed out for not making him more comfortable.

At any rate, you aren't responsible for the blogger manipulating the facts of the original story in order to embarrass Biden, the Secret Service, or Obama. Just frustrates me when such gimmicks appear to be working.
