More Ruminations from an Old Fart

I'm a fan. What do most fans do? They blow smoke. I prefer to separate this team from last years maestro team. The game is a chess game both on a mental and physical level. It will turn on a fumble, interception, dropped pass or a sack. The good news is for the 1st time in almost 2 decades Tennessee is relevant again. We would have lost to AP like Georgia State a few years back. The players only team meeting is a good thing. It is tin the hearts and minds of the players that we will win or lose. Of course I expect the Vols to win (I have pulled for them over 20 years.) Coach Josh Heupel has given us our team back and for that we should be eternally grateful! Go Vols and any win will make me happy! Rooting for a winning team is better than $200/hr psychotherapy.

Florida will use the AP game for a guide. They will try to run the ball and try to keep Tenn offense off the field. It's important to score on every possession= no drop balls, no penalties killing drives, etc. I think Tenn will respond and have a good game

Despite the miscues in the AP game, I doubt TN wanted to show too much for FL to dissect. I'm confident Heupel has a good game plan for FL but of course it's still up to the players to execute. I would expect a minimum of a 15 pt win over the gators. Should be fun.

You are not really an old fart if you’ve only been pulling for the Vols for around 20 years. Unless you moved here from somewhere else. Some of us have been pulling for UT for 60+ years. Now we are old farts for sure.

I'm with you. Saw my first game 60 years ago. Tennessee vs UCLA in Memphis. We won 37-34. I was 12 at the time

Of course you're right. I've been following the Vols since '91 when I moved into this country from Montana. But I did root for Tennessee while I lived in Montana. We hunted mountain lions with bluetick hounds. I always liked Smokey!
