More Smoking Fallout

The officer had already told Ellison that Tancredo was permitted to smoke in his office.

Members of Congress have their own set of rules, and if smoking in their personal offices is permitted, why is this even an issue.

Well considering how these people are making the rest of us do the exact opposite, I'd say the issue is there is a problem with "do as we say, not as we do". Maybe it is just me but I find a problem with those who seem to make their own rules such as constant pay raises pairing COLA, a different standard on pensions social security and retirement, and now with smoking in public buildings.

Could have been avoided with a friendly visit to his neighbor. Amazing that people have become so scared that they will avoid anything that might resemble confrontation.

Tancredo said he would not stop smoking in his office. “Heck, no!” he said. “If he [Ellison] would have [had] the courtesy to say something I’m sure I would have been more accommodating to his wishes.”

Could have been avoided? Not with Tancredo. Notice how he's feeding off of this with free press time. Honestly does anyone really care about a little feud between offices? It's a riot to see Tancredo trying his best to soak up as much publicity on smoking. I wonder if it would not be as big if it weren't for the neighbor being the Muslim Congressman.
