Morris out at Arkansas

So glad we're not going through that ordeal again. Amazing that schools will not even allow a coach to at least flip the roster and fill it with the kids he's recruited to run his system before making a judgment.

I can understand that but at the same time sometimes it's pretty obvious it's not going to work out. Morris has been terrible even considering his situation. He's lost to Colorado St., North Texas, and San Jose St. and didn't win 1 SEC game.

I mean if we hadn't have beaten Auburn and Kentucky last year and things didn't turn around and we lost to Miss St., USC, and UK we'd have the majority of our fanbase calling for Pruitt's head loudly.

I want to say it was too early, but Arkansas was in a death spiral. Morris was a good OC, but that doesn't always translate into being a good HC. If I were them, I'd go after Norvell.

Most are holding judgement until halfway thru next season. If UT is 3-4 after the Alabama game and trips up once or twice afterwards, you'll see another split fan base and Pruitt given an ultimatum to recruit well and show significant improvement in 2021 or else.

Oh I agree, the jury is still out on Pruitt and he still has much to prove if we're getting back to competing for championships. And yeah if at the end of next season we're still flirting with 6-6 the heat will rise again. I'm just saying if his 2 years had gone like Morris' went at Arkansas most of us would want him gone too and we wouldn't be talking about giving Pruitt more time. And I think most outsiders could see why.

If Morris had at least shown some life like Pruitt has, he'd get at least another season.

Arkansas shouldn't be this bad. They aren't Alabama/LSU good but they have too much tradition and too much of a fanbase to be this bad.
Good post. The problem with them is playing in the Sec west and no real recruiting base. They do have pride and tradition but I don't know if they will ever be able to recruit well enough to be significant again.

I don't really agree with this. There is a lot of high school talent in Texas to go around. Arkansas gets a decent piece of it, whenever they have credibility. Petrino did well. They have the big money boosters to be able to compete. Just like with us or anyone else, it's a matter of making the right hire at the right time.

Recruiting Texas is a crap shoot though. Texas ,Texas a&m,Oklahoma and even LSU recruit Texas really well. Plus you have all the other in state Texas programsI agree that Petrino did well and Houston Nutt did fairly well. Its just a tough situation for them. They have tons of resources though.
