Morris out at Arkansas

I’m surprised it didn’t happen 10 minutes after the game ended. Stevie Wonder saw this coming!!

I really believe PJ Fleck is staying in Minnesota for as long as they will have him. It would be a bad move on his part to go to that dumpster fire to face LSU, Alabama, Auburn, Texas A&M every year.
Yeah I think so too. I played golf last week with a Minnesota grad and big booster and when I ask him if Fleck was heading to Florida State he assured me a big time contract extension (he was right by the way) would be coming soon and Fleck would be staying in Minnesota.

For some reason (I’ve been told there are some issues there) people have avoided Norvell at Memphis. I expect him to hang around for a while unless someone decides to take a chance. Not sure his offensive philosophy would work in the SEC were you MUST play defense. After all , his team gave up 89 points in its last two games although they still won. Do that in the SEC and you’ll be 0-8 in conference right quick like!

Wouldn't be surprised if McElwain landed in Arkansas...I told people when he got fired here that he'd eventually get a bigger job than people might expect, Arkansas is the kind of program I was thinking about.

Fleck and other Big Ten coaches should have learned something from the Bret Bielema move from Wisconsin to Arkansas. Fleck seems like a smart guy. I bet he did.

I think he'd do better at a place where expectations aren't quite UF level...He's doing a nice little job at Central Michigan and he did technically have us in Atlanta his only two full seasons.

It's still a place with expectations though, sometimes even unrealistic. He's doing well at CM, but it's CM where they barely have a fanbase with a pulse and he has zero pressure. Arkansas has been through the coaching crap for 8 years now so my guess is they wouldn't want a coach that already failed at another SEC school recently. Plus that tactic hasn't worked out that well for SC.

Wasnt he pretty highly regarded as an offensive mind? Bring him in as an analyst. Seems to work well for Bama (until they cursed themselves with Jones).

At some point, these Universities have to put their foot down and tell the agents NO to those ridiculous contract stipulations.

For example, Muschamp has accomplished nothing to justify that buyout amount. Some of these coaches with zero hardware and zero accomplishments are receiving contracts that guarantee them multi-millionaire status for failure. In what other profession can you achieve millionaire status by providing very little or no benefit in results to your employer?

This has to stop at some point.
How do you stop it? Unless all schools banded together to have the same stipulations, which won’t happen because they’re all trying to outbid each other to get who they want.
