I remember that play as much or more than any other. He looked at his "watch" and said "it's about time". The crazy thing about it is he was the 3rd string back! Iirc it was Little man Stewart and Hayden in front of him. That is a great set of backs.

Help me out. What's the significance of him saying it one way or the other?

Fullback.

Yeah Phillips split time with Mario Brunson at FB. That team had Charlie Garner, Hayden and Stewart not to mention Shuler who was probably the 2nd leading rusher behind Garner. If that team would have had better receivers it would have been even more ridiculous.

Mose wanted more playing time and he was wide open. It was "about time" they called the screen to him. Mose wanted the ball and he produced. I was soaking wet in DD. Good times!

I was sitting in that end zone that day. It was raining so hard that water from the upper levels was flowing like water falls through the stadium. Great game. Spurrier went for it from inside his own 15 on 4th down. Real dumb move

I believe THE VOICE said "in the downpour". Proud to say I was wet 'n wild in Neyland that glorious, rainy day when Moses "Parted the waters".

I'm pretty sure it was "IN THE DOWNPOUR!"
Great game!! Many of my greatest memories are in the pouring rain...Auburn '89 & '91, Florida '92 & Arkansas '98!

That arky 98 game. I cried, I laughed, I prayed, I came out of that storm exhausted... What a day to be a VOLUNTEER!

Mose is one of my all-time favorite Vols. That was probably my favorite game in Neyland. (Todd Kelly bossed the entire Florida offense that day too. Welcome, TKjr!)

I think Heath Shuler used to joke Mose was so slow the defense always mistimed their tackles on him. Bryson might disagree but Mose is arguably our greatest fullback since color TV.

Is it just me or do those unis just look awesome with bigger numbers and what appears to be a slightly darker shade of orange?

It's darker because he is soaked from the rain. Those unis were not very thick. You can see his shoulder pads and rib pads because it is so wet.
