Moses Abraham, C
Camp Springs, MD
Progressive Christian Academy
Scouts Grade: 90
Position Rank: 22
Nigerian big man commits to Hoyas
6-foot-9 center Moses Abraham verbally committed to Georgetown on Thursday after returning from a two-day official visit to Indiana, the Washington Post is reporting.
According to Abraham's adviser, Joe Boncore, he and Moses had a "long talk" with Georgetown Coach John Thompson III and his father, former Hoya coach John Thompson II, and following that conversation Abraham decided to commit.
ESPN.com describes Abraham as a "tremendously athletic center/power forward whose defense is ahead of his offense at this stage.
"He needs to continue to develop his offensive skills around the basket, incuding his back to the basket game, but on defense he's a real force, blocking and altering shots as well as cleaning up the boards. While he's still raw offensively his athleticism makes up for a current lack of skill. He may not be an impact freshman his first year but with continued development he could become a big contributor by his second year."
Abraham joins two ESPNU 100 prospects Nate Lubick and Markel Starks along with Aaron Bowen in the Hoyas' 2010 class.
This pretty much sucks.
