Am I alone in being the most excited about UT football since 01? After Dooley gave up&played 4 OT,I knew that was the final nail in his coffin. I believe the folks with the shekels will pay whatever it takes to get a top-flight coach. I`ve stated my opinions on potential coaches,so I`ll not go there. I am just freakin ecstatic that UT is finally going to have a good coach! Can`t wait to see who we get and they`ll have my support regardless. I`m excited! What say u VN? Go Vols!!

:eek:lol: Really?

I'm with him.

The coaching search and hire are the most exciting and most important thing about this program right now.

I check for rumors and updates like I check stats.

Someone will be holding up the Sears trophy this year. It's not going to be us. But we will have our own little championship. Hopefully Chucky.

I wouldn't say that I am excited. Sick, mad, embarrassed, and worried? Yes.

I cannot see any way that Dooley is retained but if we don't hit a home run on the next hire, it could be the death of the program.

yeah, excited is not exactly the word that comes to mind. I am more worried than anything. We HAVE to get this next hire right.

Yep...this is a tall fence sided by a green grass of excitement and an opposing side of worry and skepticism.

Hopefully the greener side isnt being fertilized with BS...

New coaching staff brings new hope. Something that has been missing for years. I'm excited about that. Not like we've had anything else to excited about.. So can't be picky.

I can't see how he stays..especially after letting that game go to overtime with 40 seconds on the clock 2 timeouts and you have Hunter,Patterson, Bray and not Even try to get in field goal range Not to mention the defense let a 14 point lead slip away...

This a billion times over. Simply the stupidest thing I've ever seen by a coach. Period.

I'm holding excitement till I see how Hart handles the situation. I have no data on him, therefore, I have no confidence in his decision making until he makes one.

Total agreement. Anyone who leaves two timeouts on the board at the end of the half when your offense is rolling is a moron. Then to settle for overtime? Was he trying to lose that game? Sad thing is, it's not the first time he settled at half. He's a terrible coach. I fail to see how any d1 coach can manage a game as poorly as he consistently has. It's shameful.

Makes you wonder if someone already gave him his pink slip weeks ago and he's just going through the motions.

Exactly, 100% agree......

I agree with op, finally it's over, we know it's over, national media is even saying it's over, it's finally OVER! We can move on and based on $ amounts being thrown around to hire a new coach we can have some excitement and hope for the future!

Our football program is on life support already.

The family has been called to the bedside.

A priest is being sought.

The right hire can save us.

To me it is an early Christmas.
