I have to go with FSU.

A lot of people are really up on them right now, and I understand the excitement of a 2nd year coach along with some really good recruiting, but I just think everyone is prematurely praising them. Do I think they will be a good team? Yes. Do I think they deserve to be a top 5 team already? Negative.

For the record, I don't hate FSU in any way, I just think they are being pumped up way to much.

Who does everyone else think is overrated to start the season?

Stanford. #6 in the country. Replaced pretty much the whole line and have a new coach. I know Luck is a great QB but i just don't see them takin' the PAC 12.

It's gotta be FSU. I'm not really sold on A&M in the Top 10.

Arkansas is probably overranked now that Davis is injured, but that's not the pollsters fault.

#4 LSU
#7 Stanford
#12 South Carolina
#23 Auburn
#24 West Virginia

Any of those would work.

LSU because Jefferson's about to get kicked in the head by the man...

Notre Dame probably should get the previous decade's over ranked award.

Stanford is highly overranked. I think Auburn and Notre Dame are as well.

Auburn's 23rd, but they shouldn't be anywhere near the Top 25 considering they don't have a shell of the team they had last year.

Oklahoma State and Stanford are overrated. Florida is somewhat, but I don't think it's egregious. If they finished 8-4 they'd be borderline Top 25, so it's not terrible.

Stanford. Shades of 07 Florida. People are just overvaluing one player too much.

I think FSU is going to be in the Top 5-10 all year, because of the ACC.

Notre Dame will have a good season. Mark my words.

Auburn shouldn't be in the top 25. AT ALL.

Georgia will go 7-5/8-4 and get Richt fired.

Virginia Tech will go 12-0 and be overrated because their schedule may be the most pathetic out of all the BCS schools. If FSU plays them they'd win solidly.

Seems to me there are quite a few overrated teams this year. Allthough the SEC is stil the best conference in football, I think we have a lot of teams getting the benefit of the doubt.

#2 Ala
#4 LSU
#12 SC
#15 Ark
#19 UGA
#20 Miss St.
#22 Fla
#23 Aub

I'd say more of those teams will move down than up.
#7 Stanford or #9 Okie St. most overrated imho.

I agree.

Many will disagree with this. I actually believe Bama will not be a top 5 team next year. I know their D has plenty of experience but they also have a few questions on offense. They have to replace a QB, they have to replace Julio, and not to mention Mark Ingram who was part of the best 1-2 RB punch in college football. I don't really see Bama as a NC contender this year, there you go, I said it.

I think the defense will just be that down right ferocious at times. But the quarterback situation isn't set, true.

They're the best team in the best conference. I just can't think of 5 teams that are clearly better.

I actually believed LSU was the better team until the whole bar beatdown mess and one of their players being ruled ineligible, too many distractions will screw them up this year. I will be very impressed with Miles if he can keep them focused this year. They are probably the most talented team in the SEC.

I agree that the SEC is the best conference but there may be a few teams from other conferences that might be a bit better.

Yeah, there are definitely teams, even ranked lower, that could hang in there with the big boys. It's really impossible to judge until everyone plays the SEC gauntlet

I've got to go with UGA. The best thing they have going for them is a true freshman RB, and while we've seen that can be pretty awesome in recent years, I don't think he can do it all by himself. Guys like Lattimore had some help.

And maybe the best quarterback in the SEC.

Minor details.
