Most under-rated team in SEC

Alabama has not gotten any respect from the pre-season polls. How can UT be ranked ahead of Bama when Bama won 5 more games, got a better recruiting class, and replaces about the same # of starters? I think Bama is a legit top 20 team. However, how can people rank UT as high as 12? They just had a losing season! Say what u want, but I see Bama suprising a lot of people this year. I can't wait to put down 100 bones on Cal for the first game cause I like Cal in that one. By the way, a couple of months ago I said UT would be favored vs. Cal. About everybody on this board disagreed. I was right about the spread, and I will be right about Cal beating UT......Roll Tide Roll

Who has UT ranked as high as 12?

As to the question, I'll say Georgia. Yeah, they're ranked and all that as usual, but I don't think they're getting as much love as they will by the end of the year.

You are replacing a senior QB, and you won't have Prothro at all, that is about 90% of your offense.

I might be willing to take that bet too, I don't think Tennessee will be prepared for that game.

Get an account on Bodog. Before sep. 2nd put $105 bones on Cal to cover the spread vs. UT. I guaruntee you Cal will cover. They are a top 10 team in some polls. Pac-10 teams have also fared well ves. SEC schools. Most notibly the 2000 Bama vs. UCLA game.

a few points

1) yes arkansas will beat bama.
2) three named quarterbacks suck
3) bama won't put a touchdown on the board against our d in october
4) we will beat cal by 10, i know this because
a) we fair well in openers
B) we won't have to play our offense again our first string defense (and we all know that pac 10 d's are about as effective as SEC scout teams)

sorry im just in an outline kinda mood today

alabama lost their two leaders on offense and their leaders on defense.

will they have an above. 500 record? probably

will they win more than 7 games? probably not

I guess even following our worst season in 2 decades our program is still in better condition than 'bama's!

1. The NUMBER of returning starters is an overrated statistic. It's a good one, but people assume if you return X amount of players, you automatically are guaranteed a better season. Wrong.

2. I see Alabama surprising nobody. Hawaii, IMO, will cover the +16 they get on September 2nd.

3. As someone else said, if 2005 is all we're looking at, might as well not play the games. Tennessee, a 5-6 team last season, was about one second away from beating your best team this century.

I'm going with Team Spurrier. He has the best coaching, with limited talent. The possibilities are endless.

that's most notably? what about USC Auburn? or USC Ark? or AZ St. LSU....

the UCLA bama game was 7 years ago....and hardly the most notable Pac10/SEC Game, especially when trying to predict the out come of the TN/Cal game in 2006.:whistling:

We are surprised at being in top 25. But having said that, still a better team going into season then Bama. And with two struggling quarterbacks we still only lost by three due to a fumble. We are about three weeks out and Bama gets to prove their mighty strength vs Hawaii while the Vols open up with a CAL. Who has more guts?

For some reason I keep comming back to this thread, I really want to bash Bama, but I don't want to hurt "someones" feelings. Does Bama really think that they are that good this year?
