I'm seeing a bit of talk about a reverse merger between these two "conferences". Situation is roughly this, the PAC-12 has assets in the $60 -90 million range and the question is who gets those assets. WSU & OSU or divide by 12 and assets go to all the previous members. A reverse merger renaming the Mountain West the PAC might move those assets to the new conference. Lots of "suits" will be involved in this one.

With the PAC 12 owing Comcast $50 million, they should sell whatever assets they have and OSU and WSU should get the remainder. Then at that point, they can just join the MWC.

If the PAC 12 has that kind of liquid assets, the present members have equal rights to it, regardless of where they will be members next season.
WSU and OSUw take their windfall and appreciate it.
