What's your list of must own movies? Defined as "movies you can watch over and over and never get tired of them." That type of movie.

My list:

Boondock Saints
American History X
Requiem for a Dream
Art School Confidential
No Country for Old Men
I'm Not There
The Doors
Crash

Not necessarily my favorites, just movies I like to watch a lot.

The Thing (watch with commentary as well, it's pretty entertaining)
House of 1000 Corpses (watch this every Halloween)

#5
#5
Shawshank Redemption (Blu-Ray)
American Psycho
Saving Private Ryan
Dark Night

No comedy? If comedy is on the list I'll take these two.

Blazzing Saddles and Young Frankenstein

My collection is limited to:
The Big Lebowski
Several Christmas movies
Old School
Baby Einstein dvds

#12
Shawshank
Citizen Kane
Driving Miss Daisy
Tommy Boy
Rain Man
Schindler's List
and everyone needs a good collection of Hitchcock films. Might I recommend Psycho, The Birds, Vertigo, The Trouble With Harry, North By Northwest, To Catch A Thief, the original Mr. And Mrs. Smith and The Man Who Knew Too Much as possibilities.

I'm surprised there is no mention of "Goodfellas"

The Good,The Bad,And The Ugly
Porky's
2001 A Space Odyssey

Godfather movies
Goodfellas
Tombstone
The Departed
Deadwood
Gangs of NY
The Untouchables

I got Miller's Crossing for Christmas but haven't been able to watch it.
I thought Once Upon A Time In America was terrible.

Great list. I love and own all those except for Godfather and Gangs of New York, both of which I've been meaning to get, especially Gangs since it's one of my favorite movies.

They just came out with a new Godfather collection (The Coppola Restoration).

A lot of people don't like GONY, but it's one of my favorites too.

I would also suggest A Bronx Tale too.

And I'm going to get blasted for this but I think Scarface is a terrible movie and waaaay overrated.

It seems to me that people either really love or don't care for GONY.

I kinda agree with you on Scarface. I remember watching it and being disappointed. The ending's great but I was a little bored most of the 2 hours before it.

I'll definitely have to check out A Bronx Tale.
