I was just looking through the OnDemand PPV and trying to pick out a movie for tonight. Anyone have any recent release recommendations? Munich? Date Movie?

Thanks for the help

I saw Munich listed the other day too but didn't think I was in the mood to watch it. I have heard it is a different type of film and it was very good. :dunno:

EDIT: I realize I'm not much help either :p

Munich is awesome. I rented the movie Unbreakable last night it was awesome. I also watched The Hills Have Eyes which is just plain messed up.

I'm going to avoid that one then, since a person with your avatar called it "messed up."

Date movie was horrible. I just got done watching Glory Road. If you haven't seen it, it's good.

More recommendations:

Life of David Gale
LA Confidential

Didn't figure you to be a Kevin Spacey fan. Gotta mention Seven if you're talking about his best stuff.

Munich can get a little messed up at times, KD, but as long as she's not too squeamish should be a-ok.

Well. . . .Munich it was. Wife made it through about and hour and a half (fell asleep). I thought it was very good. I didn't quite get the flashbacks to the original hostage situation, though?

While we're on the topic of Spacey movies, a good one he starred in was K-Pax. Spacey stars opposite Jeff Bridges as a psychotic who presents a very convincing case that he is an alien from another planet. Extremely good movie if you can survive the shoddy cinemtography.

Munich is awesome!

Batman Begins if you have not seen it.

Some oldies but goodies, Big Fish, Man of the House (It is silly but really funny), Top Secret, Airplane, Naked Gun trilogy, The Constant Gardener, etc.............

Spacey really disappointed me as Lex Luther, although Gene Hackman's peformances were unbelievable.

*Note I think it was directing that ruined Spacey in Superman Returns........

A good choice. I thought Munich was very good, probably great, up until the final sex-scene-flashback. I know Speilberg was trying to do something intense, but it came across to me as just weird, and it almost ruined the whole thing for me. I have been recommending it to friends, telling them it is the best movie I have seen in a very long time except for that scene.

I was intensely watching Daniel Craig, Steve in Munic, because I knew he was going to be the next Bond.

Speaking of Bond, Brosnan in The Tailor of Panama and Matador are good choices.

Romeo + Juliet
Escape from L.A.
Broken Arrow
Doom
Saw I and II
The Flintstones
The World's Greatest Athlete.....a white guy in Africa......

Matador was one of the best films of the last few years. Brosnan is hilarious and he and Kinnear work together very well, highly recommended especially if you are watching with your significant other.

If you can find it, The Kentucky Fried Movie is a hoot!

*The short, A FIST FULL OF YEN, is to die for!

I'm watching the 1981 version of Excalibur right now, starring Nigel Terry. It's kind of weird to see guys like Liam Neeson and Patrick Stewart in minor supporting roles. Very good, gritty, dark movie.

I have the above movie on DVD. Great cast and generally a good movie overall. The movie slows down a bit when the search for the grail is on.

Yeah, I read that somewhere. But, other than that, still a great movie. Probably the best film rendition of King Arthur out there.

The end is classic, if I had to change any thing I would have had the battle of the kings last longer.

Pretty much it is dark, there are some torches lit, and Arthur says he is going to build a round table and a castle around it.

Kingdom of Heaven, the 2005 Ridley Scott film, I liked, although it was panned by critics.

I got Kingdom of Heaven for Father's Day, I absolutely loved it, they butcher the true story of Balain, but it is a very good movie.

*Any movie with Dr. Bashir cannot be all that bad.*

Also, I got Last of the Mohicans with Kingdom of Heaven.....good movie also.....
