Anyone ever done this on their own? Or do I just need to suck it up and pay the 350 for the movers?

Somewhere around age 40 I decided that every dollar I spent having somebody else move or fix stuff was worth it.

I'm thinking it's not worth me messing with. Just wanted to confirm these thoughts before I pull the trigger.

I turn 40 in June, I've got two more months of moving my own crap!

I done it once about 10 years ago. Bought it for $100, and me and a friend moved it. It wasn't that bad.

You're thinking correctly. You don't want any part of moving a pool table. Plus, if you hire someone, you'll have somebody to ***** at when it's not level.

I'd be concerned with the slate and if it was a table I cared about I'd probably get someone to move it.

If it's a cheapo then round up some big boys and buy'em some beer

must not have been much of a pool table if two people could move it.

It wasn't very expensive, I think the guy I bought it from said he paid $800. So I know it wasn't one of the best/heaviest.

I'm getting it cheap. It's a real nice cannon though, so I'm thinking I'm going to hire movers. The only one that I can find in town hasn't returned my call yet. I may have to get someone from Nashville, which will probably mean more $$$.

Chances are you will have to break it down to get it through doors. If you have to break it down you'll play hell getting the felt back correctly. Pay a pro!

Agreed. This would be the deciding factor.

A decent table will have very heavy (and valuable) slate that has to be taken apart before moving to avoid damage. Then, it must be leveled, have the seam(s) waxed, and refelted.

In short, pay the men.

Good news: table felt is available in orange.

I paid the money. Would of never been able to get the leveling and felt right otherwise. I had a mover from north of Nashville come down to Franklin to move/install.

So...basically if u care about how it looks/plays, pay the money.

PAY THE MONEY!!!! PLUS a moving company will put it together and level it. It will be the best $350 you'll ever spend. Unless u go to the bunny ranch.
