So as the thread title indicates I'm moving back to Gods country. I've spent a bit over a year in the great white northern wasteland that is Michigan. Hopefully the move goes smooth and there isn't any snow to deal with.

On a slightly unrelated note, my coworkers are throwing me a going away party. They're notorious for getting blackout drunk and have already apologized for making me throw up. Any suggestions for keeping some semblance of consciousness? After all I do want to remember the party.

Yep. I'm going back to my old job there. Pay is a little less but no state income tax will make up for it.

Hope you're able to move soon.

I'm close to the Ky line and out in the sticks :) north and west of Knoxville

On one of my many drives down last year, I drove through some backwoods parts of KY that honestly had me a little fearful. I kept expecting to see a dude sitting on a bridge playing banjo.

there are some great roads in Ky,I haven't drove on any in many a year

I think it was Hwy 58 from Kingsport, but i remember seeing out houses right over the creek bed, next to the road

you could tell they needed a creek flood to flush the toilet and I am serious, this isn't a joke

and congrats on moving back to Tennessee :)

No state income tax - sounds good after all I have paid to this crummy state and its still billions in debt - I would like to be near Knoxville though and no Saturday work (Vols FB is more important lol)

That's kinda where I'm at. I'm within reasonable driving distance to Knoxville and usually don't work Saturdays unless I happen to be on call.

Best of luck!!. I did the same a couple of years ago but couldn't make it in my work field. The saying "you can't go home again" was true for me.

Teaspoon of bakers yeast before drinking...and you'll be able to drink a very good amount of alcohol. Apparently, the founder and brewer of Sam Adams does this so he can taste all of the different beers when he's doing shows and social outings.

I've read that too, but haven't tried it

I cannot understand why anyone would want to make it harder to get drunk

Tennessee does have an income tax. The Hall Tax: 6 percent on interest and dividends received from banks, corporations, mutual funds based outside Tennessee.

If you don't report the income, they will catch you. I know from personal experience.

Try to eat something with a good bit of carbs and some fat/oil before drinking, as this will help absorb alcohol and slow its release. Something like some pasta with a bit of olive oil.

I used to drink my whiskey neat, but learned that having it on the rocks, the ice slows down the release of the alcohol into your system.

If drinking beers, I used to alternate O'Douls with real beers (lame, I know).

After you have quit drinking, pop some aspirin right then, as it will help dilate your blood vessels and speed everything on out of your system. Tea the next morning will also help do this, even better than coffee -- I think Irish Breakfast tea, as those folks might know a thing or two about this.

Lastly, try to drink water before, during and after, as dehydration contributes to making a drinker feel like crap.

And don't drive! Have fun, stay safe!

get a bottle of niacin and take two of them the next morning. Its a big dose of vitamin B and will ease the hangover
