Obviously, this rebuild isn't complete with the 2019 class, although it certainly moved things forward. I don't know how many scholarships will be available in 2020, especially with a blueshirt or two being thrown into the 2019 class, but I suspect Tennessee will sign 25 in 2020. Attrition will give us back some scholarships back under that rule that does that.

That said, the biggest needs in my view are:
1. Defensive Line: Tennessee signed some DLinemen in the 2019 class and may add another in Green. But that would be 3 JUCOs. That means they'll all be gone in 2 years. Since we don't wanna be starting freshmen in 2021, we need to sign a steller class of DLinemen in 2020 to have them ready.
2. Running Back: Eric Gray was a big pickup, but he was it (unless Beasley moves). Chandler and Jordan will be juniors in 2019. Zachary Evans visiting in January was a very positive sign. I hope Pruitt goes all in on him.
3. Wide Receiver: We'll be losing Calloway and Jennings after this season. Palmer (who I think is the best pro prospect on the team) will be a senior in 2020. Tennessee whiffed on the elite studs (Haselwood/Pickens) they targeted in 2019. Need to get one or two of those in 2020.
4. Safety: Tennessee loses Nigel Warrior after this season and may only have one safety coming in the 2019 class, depending on Harris' grades. Need to bolster this postion with some blue chippers.
5. Edge Rushers: I'm high on Roman Harrison, but we lose Darrell Taylor after 2019. Wish we'd been able to get Bogle.

It looks like we're in great shape for a bunch of stellar Offensive Linemen. Unfortunately, that's not what we need the most this class, given what Tennessee just signed. However, you never turn down quality linemen, so I'd expect Tennessee to land another quality OL haul, as well.

We NEED an elite edge rusher. I think that is a major weakness and we need to sign a couple. We added a lot of solid depth so those losses wont hurt as much. We signed plenty of DB talent. So I'm sure some of those will be moved to safety. The corner position is solidified. I'm pleased with the signing class. Addressed needs, added depth and found some impact Freshman that will be starters Day 1. I just wish we would have been able to get Bogle as well.

We should be able to sign a full class next year!

You always need stellar olinemen. Always.

Anyone know if Jordan Davis is the edge rusher type of DL? If so, that's a JUCO who could come in and play right away, along with Roman Harrison, who will be a soph by then.

Yes, that is what the coaches have in mind for Jordan Davis. As far as Harrison, I thought he was being moved to ILB.

We are coming off a 4-8 and 5-7 season. There are still needs pretty much everywhere. 4 biggest areas:

1. Multiple Pass rushers
2. QB (Bailey!)
3. Elite WR(s)
4. More bodies in the trenches

1a. Pass Rush
1b. WRs
2. RBs

I really think we've got a few more things up our sleeves for this class on grad transfers.

Davis is already 6’5 250 in juco. I would think he stays at DE and puts on another 15 lbs, definitely has the frame for it. Roman Harrison will stay at OLB like they’ll have him this season or move him to DE. But at 6’2 245, running a 4.6....that’s a pretty nasty outside linebacker

You never pass on quality OL unless you are CDD.

Don't Middleton and Savion have three years to play? I know that doesn't lower the priority of D-Line in recruiting for us, but it does help build some consistency at those spots.
