Moving to Atlanta

I've never heard of it but it's next to Ansley Golf Club which is nice. Also near the Botanical Gardens & Peidmont Park & Sweetwater brewery & Fat Matts Rib Shack. Sorta near buckhead so it will a quick ride to bars. Probably not the safest area at night but you'll be okay if you are smart. Cheshire Bridge Road is one of the more eclectic areas. Lots of cool places to eat. As long as you are working near there, you should have fun.

Not familiar with the area, but traffic sucks anywhere down there. I'm an hour northeast of Atlanta, so if you ever swap to the Big Orange I'm close enough to bring you a hat!

I live pretty close (a mile maybe), more to the Buckhead side. What sort of advice are you looking for?

first rule of Atlanta: no matter where you are going, down the street or across town, it takes 1 hour

I work not far from that area and have had a project in the area so might now a little more than others.

there is a kroger and a publix on monroe before you get to the park. that shopping center is pretty nice, depending on what you are looking for.

I think I'm gonna go with Marta when I go to the Vols/GT game.

My advice. If your work is in a decent part of town, try to find a place within walking distance. It will make your life so much more enjoyable. I live across the street from my work. I wake up at 6:25 and am at my desk by 6:45 every morning. All my coworkers wake up around 6:00 to get to work by 7:30 or 7:45.

Anyone know about Piedmont Heights neighborhood? I'm moving next month any advice would be appreciated.

I used to live about two miles from there over in the Emory/Druid Hills area. People knock it for the traffic, but honestly you figure out how to get around and as long as you avoid interstates, it's not all that big a deal. I actually liked it up there.

This. As time passes you will figure out different routes, certain times to travel certain roads and what not. I'm in the Druid Hills area and love it. There is always something to do and if you're a foodie, you will enjoy it even more. Plenty of different places to eat that are amazing.
