Why would you hope you don't run into me? I'd be down for watching some Vols games next season with you.

Where exactly are you moving to, in Portland?

Your area will be part of the PIL, which is pretty much strictly basketball. There are two good football leagues in 4A, which is our highest division of football. The first one is south of Portland, called Three Rivers League, which is centered around Lake Oswego. The other one is Metro League, which is centered around Hillsboro and Beaverton. Glencoe (my high school, as well as Ainge's) is Metro League, and is probably the best all-around football League north of the bay area in California and south of Tacoma and Seattle.

Metro league games are the biggest, you will usually see a couple thousand people at most games. The Metro League consistently produces 2-4 teams that are state title contenders each season.

The only thing about high school ball here is that I think the Portland Metro Area is a vastly underrated area with some great football, and it seems to go untapped every recruiting season as Oregon will only produce a couple three and four-star recruits each year.

ahh man. well Im pretty fast for a white boy and will be playing football when I go up there. But I am better at basketball, but since it is a basketball league up there, I might be playing (even though I prob wont start from the sound of it.)

Do you play any sports Milo?

Yeah, Oregon has some very good basketball. The good schools for hoops...

Jesuit: A perenial Metro league powerhouse, have put players into universities such as Gonzaga and Duke. Currently have the Tarver brothers, sons of the former NFL running back. One of the brothers is a four-star recruit on rivals. They are the defending state champions.

Westview: Another Metro League powerhouse for basketball, they defeated Fairfax, the defending state champions of California in the first round of the Les Schwab Invitational, which is one of the larger tournaments on the west coast. They also have a lot of height, with five players 6'5" or taller, and 6'11" freshman Andy Poling and 6'10 sophomore Trevor Siefken.

Jefferson: From the PIL, a standard powerhouse in the state of Oregon. They are usually a constant feature in the USA Today Super 25 rankings. They were on a letdown this year, but almost defeated Oak Hill Academy in the LSI Tournament, but ended up losing the lead in the closing minutes to get defeated 73-68. They also defeated Montrose Christian Academy in the LSI tournament, 72-63. They lost in the Final Four of the state playoffs by 19 points to Lake Oswego high school.

Lake Oswego - Three Rivers consistent powerhouse, they finished second in state this year.

Hillsboro High School - Consistent Metro League power, many playoff appearances. Very well-coached, finished second in state in the 2003 playoffs.

There are some more, but that sums up our basketball...

I want to play football badly, but I doubt I will be able to come up with the money. By the end of this school year, I will need to have a team-color set of Under Armor, cleets and turf shoes. Then before school starts again, I will have to shell out $175 in fees in order to play. So, I would love to play football, but it's looking highly unlikely.

I also tried out for the basketball squad at my school... I didn't make the cut, but we had about 80 guys trying out, and I have never seriously played hoops.

well your going to have to put me on there. My friends gave me the nickname Larry Bird because I have a jump shot like him (and its the only hite basketball player they know). I think I can play up there, I'm about 5"11 almost 6 and can dunk a basketball. I like playing football so much more than basketball, but I am way better at basketball.

Like I said, you'll be playing in a league with a team that gave Montrose Christian a beatdown and almost took out Oak Hill... And this school isn't even the best in the state. :p

Oregon is much more basketball-oriented than football, but I think we have some very good football. You'd have an alright time playing PIL football, they still have a minimum three automatic playoff berths and usually only produce one or two quality teams every season. Not state contenders, mind, you, but just decent.

Metro League football is where it's at.

oh well. If the football team doesn't contend I'm going to play basketball. I averaged about 18 ppg 3ast. and 1 steal a game here in jacksonville. Our city dominated in the playoffs this year sending 4 teams to there state chamionship (2a 2b 3a 4a). My team went 18-4 this year losing twiceto ACD (15th rankked team in the nation, played on espn this year). Our best player derwin kitchen is going to college to play at florida.

I saw the map and I know we've talked before about the area Milo, but I've forgotten so I have to ask, and it might help vols2345,

Are there a lot of really good looking girls in Beaverton?
