Jalen Hurd is improving week by week. He is impressive every week with our weak o-line. We have someone special at Rocky Top!

The thing that I really really like about hurd is his ability to protect Worley in the passing game. He picked up striker multiple times tonight. Will look forward to when he wont have to stay back and protect the qb because the dline is swarming the backfield.

Lane does a good job of picking out and finding holes. The problem is there aren't any this year. Jalen is creating his yardage.

Our other 5 star, Josh Malone, may be starting now after that obismal performance by Croom. Hopefully he will shine as bright as Jalen.

This kid is gonna be special if he stays healthy, and if we can get our offensive line back to a respectable level. It's not a matter of viewing his potential through orange colored glasses either. Eddie George tweeted tonight that "Jalen Hurd is a future super star", and Kirk Herbstreit had some nice things to say about him during the broadcast. Jalen is the real deal, and it's going to be a lot of fun watching him and this young team grow over the next few years.

He looked great tonight! You can tell he's really trying to please the coaches and head forward and hold on to the ball. I think he hurts himself sometimes by not trying to break a few tackles instead of just making sure to fall forward.

Sad to watch our future RB get run down from behind by a linebacker.

Really?? The backer had the angle on him and he still made a huge gain on the play. He's gonna pop some big runs this year. NEWS FLASH!!!!! He won't outrun everybody, but he's gonna outrun a bunch of em. He's also gonna run OVER a bunch of them. Please chill out and give the young man some time to get acclimated to the speed of the college game. WOW!!!

I'm thinking we will too. And I think we will play Bama tough this year because their defense is not as good as they have previously been thank goodness.

We will see how good Alabama is next week vs UF -- only ? is which side will the refs be on next week ?

I'll have to re-watch it but in my memory he got ran down in what should've been a TD run. Kudos for him breaking off that run to begin with but people say HR potential and I haven't seen a HR yet.

He actually looked faster tonight than he has looked all season.

Malone is coming along well and made a couple plays tonight. I expect more in the near future. It's a little easier for a RB to adjust to the college game as long as he understands pass protection. Jalen does a very good job pass protecting for a freshman. Usually takes a WR a little longer to adjust because they've got by for so long on natural ability, and when they get to the college level, they have to make sure they are running crisp routes and get the timing down with a new QB. Remember the progress DaRick made between his Freshman and Sophmore years? You could see the potential his first year, but it didn't translate onto the field unto his Sophmore season. I'm hoping Malone transitions a little quicker in his development and surely to God he's smarter than DaRick was about his off the field lifestyle.
