Something along the lines of,"Jeremy Pruitt says our guys are feeble girly men, so they've been lifting weights during the season to maybe not be that way anymore etc."

Kahlil Benson admits he didn’t know all that much about Tennessee three weeks ago. That’s starting to change, though. The Vols offered 2020 offensive line prospect out of Southaven, Mississippi on Tuesday, continuing the recent interest they’ve been showing. Benson, who said he plays tackle at Southaven High School, is being recruited by Tennessee offensive line coach Will Friend. He said the Vols are recruiting him at tackle, too.

“Just to keep working hard,” Benson said of the message from Tennessee. “They want me to keep doing the best I can, just keep going and do good in school.” Benson has drawn in-state interest from Mississippi State, Ole Miss and Southern Miss. Memphis and Kentucky are after him, too.

When it comes to Tennessee’s sales pitch, Benson said he’s up for whatever the Vols are looking for. “To be honest, wherever they need me at,” Benson said. “I’m used to both parts (tackle or guard) of it. I play defense as well, defensive tackle. “It’s really just whatever they would need me at. I’m used to it.

Benson said he hasn’t decided yet on how far from home he’ll be willing to go. But he does know what he’s looking for. “Great education, good academic program,” he said. “Hands on, one-on-one work. Good coaching staff that makes it feel like a family.” He wants to get a look at all of that on a visit to Tennessee. It’s just a matter of figuring out a date. “Sometime this summer,” Benson said.
