Don't believe so. He entered the portal on May 1st, which I believe was the deadline for transferring within the conference and having immediate eligibility.
I thought that if you entered during the spring transfer portal period that you lost immediate eligibility within the SEC. He may be willing to sit a year though since he's also a track guy.

I was under the impression that May 1st was the deadline for inter-conference transfers and immediate eligibility. That is, you have to have entered by that date, not chosen your new destination.

Pretty sure Hubbs is wrong. For one, he says he’s eligible, and I think it has to do with track/him not playing football this past spring. Two, if he weren’t I doubt three SEC teams so far (Vols, Aggies, MSU) would’ve already offered.

They offered most likely because he'll be a RS freshman this fall, and are ok with him sitting because he's one of the fastest kids in the country. He can also apply for a hardship waiver to be eligible this fall.

Not just straight ahead speed. Not just a finesse guy. He's got moves, can take and give a hit.
He's a football player.
