Muschamp gone...

Mack Brown knows how to find good defensive coordinators. He already took one good from Auburn in Gene Chizik.

Does this kill Auburn next year?
Let's see, Tuberville is one of the brightest defensive minds in football, he replaced Chizik without missing a beat, and this opens a spot on his his staff for his old Miami cohort, who just happens to be one of the best recruiters in college football. So, to answer your question, absolutely not.

Whom would that be... drawing a blank.

God help us all if Tubby hires Coach O and he then comes in and rips off his shirt in order to challenge the players manhood...

wouldn't be a horrible hire i don't think. Oregon would make a good DC just being a head coach...not so much. and like hat said, he's a great recruiter.

Is he really that great of a defensive mind to snag Orgeron? Orgeron's track record isnt near as good as Muschamps was before coming to Auburn... he doesnt even have a track record... never coordinated anything before except recruiting.

Muschamp is vastly overrated. Tuberville replaced Chizik, who is vastly better, with no problem. As someone who roots for OU, I can't wait to see Trooper Muschamp jumping around like a fool on the sidelines as the Sooners hang their usual 30+ on the Shorthorns next year.

Tuberville is defensively like Spurrier is on the other side of the ball, he doesn't need an innovative coordinator. He can do it himself, if need be.

LSU had great talent, but the defense was tough while Muschamp was there... similar ppg as Chizik who had as good a talent as Muschamp

That would indeed be interesting.

Guess you didn't hear about Coach O's shirt removing episode when he introduced himself to the Ole Miss players for the first time. If that's the case, never mind...By the way, his name is Orgeron, not Oregon like the northwestern state.

I could have sworn I heard Coach O had signed on as the Arky DC, I guess I mis-heard that.

He would be a good hire for any SEC team. I would be thrilled to have coach O as our DC.

If Chavis would stop playing the prevent every time we get a lead and tell the DBs to play off the ball 10-15 yards to "keep everything in front of them," then I wouldn't have as much of a problem.

IMO you have to take chances every now and then. If you play it conservative and just rely on the other team to make a mistake on O, you run the risk of them just marching down the field at will and scoring on you. We have seen it time and time again. I would like to see more blitzes (although he is doing a better job at this than he was at the beginning of the year...just wish he had done it to tebow) and our CBs in more man coverage. We should have the athletes at CB to cover WRs man-to-man. If they get burned, we have safeties overtop who can cover for them, one of which is EB , and the other is looking to be D-mo, both of whom can not only come in to make a play on the ball, but wrap up to make sure that the WR doesn't take it to the house.

I'm tired of seeing average QBs look like elite qbs because we give them infinite time (relying on DL alone to get pressure without a good DL is not a good idea) and infinite cushion.

Muschamp hasn't been around long enough to worry about:

Don't know where you got that. Muschamp was with Saban at LSU and Miami and left to go to Auburn. Was going to be announced as Arkansas head coach until last second move to get the maniac from Atlanta. Muschamp will make someone a good head coach in the next few yrs. Texas job is a setup for that.

Forgot that Saban was at LSU in the late eighties. If Muschamp got the head coach job at Arkansas, it would be proof positive that the hog pound had finally lapsed into psychosis. You're sorta young aren't ya? Upon further review, your stated age is 53. Hmmmm. Guess I didn't state well enough that Muschamp is relatively young to be considered a big time contender for a big time SEC job (notwithstanding the one he used to have)..

He was with the Oilers in the late 80's.
