Muschamp's Contract Details

The buy-out to fire Muschamp is crazy. If they keep rolling over the deal every year and eventually have to fire him, that's 8 million dollars (if there's 4 years still on the deal). And, this guy has been a head coach for as many games as me.

They can pay him $10 million a year for all I care.

What I care about is whether or not our own well-paid coach can beat him in the years to come.

isn't the low buyout a sign of a clueless AD?

Not really, unless you're at a stepping stone style program. UF doesn't qualify.

Deal is as it should be. UF doesn't need protection, but Muschamp needs loads.

I don't know, I kind of see bust written all over this. UF may have made a bad deal. Of course, for all we know he may turn out to be the next Urban Meyer.

I think he will be a good coach, but that contract is crazy.

Sexton sure earns his money.

The great thing about that firing clause is that if he tanks it UF will keep him around longer than it should.

Jeremy Foley doesn't allow coaches to overstay their welcome.

We can handle a big buyout if the wrong coach is in place and the right coach is available.
