VN,

Remember the whole Soviet v US Mutually Assured Destruction thing? Well, a couple of days after the OSU thing hits the SI wire, this next round has started today with the former Bama player and SEC gifts of $$, are we watching the first couple of shots of the mutually assured destruction where all dirty laundry gets aired out?

if so, I WELCOME it, bring Saban and all the cheaters out into the light of the day and let's prosecute them. If Tyler and Mo did wrong, then they (and UT) should be punished, but let's be fair about it and get EVERYBODY who is guilty.

IMHO.

I don't for a minute believe that. There are good programs who follow the rules, let THEM hoist the trophy. It might be a BCS championship game between Princeton and Harvard, but that's OK -- I've heard Harvard has a great rushing attack.

The NCAA has been neutered. They aren't going to touch this.

And I am quite sure that everything in the Yahoo story is probably true.

And on both of these points, i agree with BamaWriter. 100%

Sadly true on both accounts.

I'm not defending these crooked agents. But the NCAA needs to look in the mirror and ask why college football players are such easy marks for agents to tempt.

you're right, they don't want to open this can of worms. they prefer to maintain the charade instead of admitting the amount of under the table payments being made across the ncaa. plus it will threaten all the non-revenue producing sports, which are often populated with sons and daughters of important people.
