If I were the MWC commish, this is what I would do:

12 team league, two divisions.

Pacific:

BYU
Boise St.
Fresno St.
UNLV
Nevada
San Diego St.

Mountain:

TCU
Houston*
Wyoming
Colorado St.
New Mexico
Air Force

*new addition from CUSA

If not Houston, then Hawaii in the Pacific and BYU over to the Mountain side.

The MWC in itself is so close to becoming BCS qualified under the current requirements even with out Utah. Boise St. record is even better! At least BYU's underhanded attempt to go independent was crushed. Basically the MWC commish had to destroy the WAC so BYU would not leave. As BYU would have used the WAC for all sports but football.
