Here are my 10 most disappointing teams in College Football so far in 2022 not necessarily in this order

1-Oklahoma(I thought OU would be a Playoff team)
2-Miami(I thought Miami had a real shot at winning the ACC)
3-Arkansas(I thought Arkansas would go 10-2 and possibly challenge Alabama)
4-Iowa(I figured Iowa would make it to the Big 10+2 Championship Game)
5-Texas A&M(I thought Texas A&M was good enough to possibly win the SEC West)
6-Michigan State(I figured Mich State was good enough to win 9-10 games)
7-Houston(I figured Houston would win the AAC this season and possibly go to the Cotton Bowl)
8-Northwestern(I figured NW would win 8 games possibly and go to a decent Bowl Game like the Music City Bowl)
9-Appalachian State(I didn't figure that Appalachian State would badly fall off to a 3-3 record after beating Texas A&M)
10-Kennesaw State-( At 2-3 It looks like Kennesaw State may miss the FCS Playoffs for the first time since 2016)

Arkansas's issue is the hurt QB. And dang bad luck against A&M.

I would say Oklahoma is the most underperforming school.

I would maybe throw in Wisconsin. I didnt have high expectations for them, but I didnt seem them being so bad as to fire their coach.

Going into the season i thought their ceiling was 8 wins and at worst they may win 7 so they're about what i thought they would be.

I agree that 7-8 wins is about what I expected form them (actually every year I expect 6-8 wins from them which for KY is great). The preseason media basically had them being what Tennessee has become though. The Mildcats we're getting a ton of love though and the media hates to admit they were wrong

Tennessee is becoming a power again and before long Kentucky will be back to 4-6 wins a season again.

Stoops is a good coach who focuses too much on fundamentals to ever let the program fully crater. Kentucky, SC, and Mizzu will always hover right around that 6 win mark. UT, FL, GA, and whoever ends up joining the East in 2025 (probably OK) will determine the division 99% of the time.

I wouldn't be shocked to see Stoops shuffle off to Auburn or possibly even Nebraska. With Tennessee back on the rise, KY just has no hope really.

Definitely Oklahoma, but I thought this would happen when they hired a defensive coordinator.

I don't understand the Wisc situation either brother. Anybody have any insight as to what happened up there?

Seemed their coach was rolling along then hit a rough patch this year. Not a bad enough one to can your coach and pay a 7 figures buyout though.

Was there some kind of personality issue or something there?

I just don't see any reason for Stoops to take the Nebrasky job.
That rebuild needs an ambitious and cocky offensive Co-ordinator.
Tradition is never going to get blue chip recruits back to Lincoln.
They will have to do it with diamonds in the rough, JUCO, and unknown boys looking for a spot.

Wisconsin seems perfect for him. Nothing flashy allowed and emphasis on power(i.e. boring) football.

Iowa would be another good place for Mark Stoops if they decide it's time to show Kirk Ferentz the door.

I think at this point you have to throw in Baylor. They arent in total train wreck mode, but they dont look good.

I really didnt know what to expect out of the Big 12-2+4-2, but it wasnt this. I would have had Baylor/Oklahoma/ok State vying for the conference.

Hopefully Auburn will be moved into the SEC East. What will the SEC do if Oklahoma has become a losing program when they join the SEC in 2025?

I doubt it. Makes more sense to just leave them be and their rivalries to remain intact.

Oklahoma goes to East-or maybe rebranded as North

Texas to West or possibly now the South

Texas and Oklahoma remain each others crossover.

I think the SEC has another massive expansion in them and this is not yet the "big one" which destroys the traditional cross over games. That one will probably be coming by 2032 or so.

Basically, Texas and OU joining is just an intermediary step on the way to the final layout.

And to answer your question re:what happens if OU sucks? Quite honestly, they get whipped on a weekly basis. There is no mercy rule or crying allowed in the SEC. Hell, the Vols should have taught you that between 2007-2020.

I’m not sure there’s going to be an SEC East to be moved to. Their bad luck is that they’re probably going to be in a pod w/ Bama and UGA.

I could eventually see the SEC East and SEC West break into two separate conferences.
