Definitely sucks. :p I loved my baby. And now...it's totalled.

It's destroyed.

It's history.

Any other adjective you can think of.

And I have a headache. :(

Thanks for all the well wishes, guys.

I'm still not even totally sure what happened. I drove around a curve, hit a slick spot (it had been raining)...and began spinning. When I tried to correct it, I overcorrected, hit my break (bad idea), and lost control. I ended up hitting a guard rail and sliding down an embankment.

I'm not sure how I got out of there either. The driver side door was sealed shut...the police officers couldn't even get it open when they arrived. I had already gotten out when they tried to get back in to get my license, registration, etc. But, I guess where my adrenaline was pumping, I was able to push it open.

I have a few cuts, scrapes, and bruises...but nothing to be too alarmed about. Again, thanks for the well wishes.

. . . .from my ER experience, they don't usually LOOK very pleasant to your face, either. But they definitely save lives. Glad to hear that you are OK.

Glad you are not badly hurt.

To everyone in Volnation Land, in the future if you purchase a new car try to get one with Electronic Stability Control on it. This probably would have prevented Crystal's spin-out. This used to be on only expensive cars like BMW's. now I thind you can get on Hundays etc.

Sorry about your car Crystal. As long as you're ok that's what's important. The car can be replaced, you can't.

Sorry. Those slick roads are dangerous.I know numerous people that have slid off the road and one girl that totaled her car and the other drivers car a few months ago on slick roads. No one seriuosly hurt though.Bruised and banged up. The insurance mess finally was settled.

Know the feeling. Glad you're okay. I had an accident mid December and did $5800 damage to my Chevy and got it back just after Christmas. Airbags sure smell funky. I rear ended someone else at a redlight. They stopped just past the intersection and I hit a slight spot and hit them in the rear end. I was okay but my poor Chevy didn't. Thank goodness I was able to get it back. Had to pay our of my pocket for a rental as we didn't have car rental in our policy when we have an accident. Got it now!

I went and took lots of pictures of my car today. I'll have to post them on here as soon as I can so you all can see.

I even had to climb up into the flatbed and get inside my car. That wasn't fun at all. There was glass and battery acid all in the front seat. But, it was only me and my dad cleaning out the car before the insurance adjustors came and looked at it. I had to get in so that when he took the chains off the tires, I could put on the brake so the car wouldn't slide back too fast off the flatbed after he raised it up.

Yeah...so much for that idea. It's not fun to find out that your brakes are shot when you're inside that car, on a hill. After brake fluid spilled all over me, I managed to pull the emergency brake to stop the car. But hey...I got my cd out of the cd player. That's one good thing right?

Except...when I pulled the emergency brake, I wasn't paying attention and laid my hand right down on a piece of glass and cut my hand.

It's been a long day...and I'm ready for bed.

One of my best friends was killed in a car wreck when he was coming back from deer hunting and he slid off the road in his jeep cherokee.
It could be a lot worse, be thankful you werent hurt.

I certainly hope so. I should be getting a good amount of insurance money back, so hopefully I'll be able to buy another car until I can afford to start making payments on a new one.

I remember my first car. Was very special. Am sure you are sad its gone but I am sure it gave you many good miles and in the end kept you from serious harm. Like all have said, glad you are fine.
