I have a German Shepherd, She's my guard dog. She mostly stays outside but I do bring her in when it's cold and when it rains. She's papered. But this is my question, The past 2 weeks she has been barking nonstop towards the woods, I'm stayin on 5 acres, With a barn down towards the woods. The wooded Area breaks for houses then contiines back for miles. I've fired shots into the woods I've walked them I've done everything I could. What could be causing her to bark alllllll night?

There isn't any other dogs she could be barking at and she won't stay inside at night.

you can try shooting a 22 into the ground or throw some firecrackers out the door, that usually stops the unwanted barking

Thing is I've set coon traps and had Tim run dogs and didn't pick up a scent.

Lol. I honestly think I have people trying to break into the barn. The fence line was cut idk if it was before I moved in or not. I have some valuable stuff up theirs. Including every issue of playboy for the 60's.

This is going to sound far fetched.... but possibly a black bear, coyotes(although you would hear them), even a cougar. Mother in law had a similar problem, then they saw the bear prints on their front door. Scary stuff.

Well don't set a spring gun to the door of the barn, so that it shoots whoever tries to enter the barn. It's illegal.

About 10 years ago, in Marshall county Mississippi, 45 min southeast of Memphis, a horse got attacked overnight with big gashes all over the body. The only thing that they figured that attacked the horse was a panther. Unfortunately, the horse had to be put down. Panthers aren't very common in this neck of the woods or black bears, but occasionally, you'll find one.

Hahahaha! There's nothing like quality 60's porn I tell ya!

It's probably just vermin, even with this bitterly cold weather it doesn't seem to have made much impact on the skunks.

You tried putting her on a leash and letting her lead you to what she's barking at? It's obviously nocturnal so that narrows it down a bit.

She isn't on a chain she just stands their and barks. She just stopped. It could be deer. I've not seen any though

I'd light up that forest line like Neyland Stadium on a Saturday night, put on my ghillie suit and go prone on the back deck with a rifle. :)
