Sorry the video wasn't turned wide screen. I don't know why I didn't remember to do that. But it works!

Some notes and thoughts from practice and chatting with the players at the hotel...(I work at the Crowne Plaza where the team is staying right now for those who haven't seen my posts before)

1) Chris Weatherd is by far my favorite guy to talk to. Not at all knocking the other guys, but you can tell he is just so excited about being here. Every time I talk to him he always has a huge smile on his face and just gushes UT. We briefly talked about the transition from JuCo to the big school and you can tell he is a lot more humble than most guys who come in as a hyped recruit.

2) Josh Malone has been seeing some good time at kick returner. He's been pretty quiet in fall camp, but is still showing his potential.

3) Jakob Johnson is getting some looks at linebacker. He played OLB in high school and the coaches at UT initially put him at defensive end. But his combination of size and speed seem to be too much for coaches to pass up at the linebacker position. Obviously everything is still a transition and nothing is ever final with Coach Jones, but who knows what will happen there.

4) Similar story with Neiko Creamer. He was an ATH in HS and his size kind of allows him to play all over. He was at linebacker and is getting some reps at TE now.

5) Derrell Scott looks good at RB. With the hype of Hurd, Scott hasn't been talked about as much but I am here to tell you he is good and he will see playing time this season if he continues to do some of the things he's been doing in practice.

Jakob will be a truck at LB. Good move IMO by CBJ

Scott is exciting. Very highly recruited, will be a great combination with Hurd down the road

The Hurd-Kamara-Scott battle/three-headed monster next year is going to be fun to watch

Don't be fooled, Paulk and Reid will be a factor too.

Paulk is apparently doing really well in camp, just rusty from the injury.

Pretty positive he redshirts this year. If he does, and then comes back 100% healthy next year...

Holy crap.

Yes, the OL with a year of experience with the TEs and WRs.........wow. The defense will be a year older and with the addition of KM and hopefully Suttle/Tuttle up front---watch out.

I think if you look at teams in the SEC, we have reason to be more optimistic and positive than any other team. And MAYBE more so than any other team in the country.

No other team who has been down as long or longer than we have, has such a sleeping giant potential, and are recruiting lights out like we are.

Everyone knows it's only a matter of time.

And if they don't, by the end of the year, they will.

Nice to move players finally based on potential rather than simply need

Gillespie has been very positive about him. I think he is going to be the Lendale White to this tandem. But he will most likely redshirt this year, and then come back completely healthy.

I'd love to see us with 3-4 incredible backs that can just be plugged in on any down and any situation and make positive gains.

I would think Paulk redshirts this year also. Best thing for him based on his injury. Next year it's going to be nice with Hurd, Scott, Paulk and Kamara. And hopefully Reid can redshirt next year. Would be nice to start having enough depth that players can redshirt again and get used to play in the SEC, go through the S&C program before having to play.

What a difference a year makes!

Last year we were searching for talent at almost all the positions.

This year we are trying to find positions for all the talent!!!

Boom!!!
