You guys have seen me post on here a while, well, I had surgery on Tuesday to fix a ten year long problem with my neck.

I had cervical fusion surgery and now have a fancy titanium plate made by the company I work for holding my neck together.

It hurt like hell, I've lost 15 pounds and watching the UT game on Friday about killed me (not really, but dang I was a mess)

I'm on the recovery and hope to be back to normal in a few weeks.

Just thought I would share this with my fellow Vol fans.

Here's a picture of the incision in my neck that they put 9 staples in, something tells me this is going to leave a scar....

Hope you get better.

You should have made us believe it was a bar fight and we should have seen the other guy. That would have been cooler. :biggrin2:

Is that in your neck? Does anyone else see where I'm going with this? :biggrin2:

I hope you can get those staples out quick, they look rough. I also hope it fixed your problem.

Bro your suppose to keep your head up when you tackle somebody.

Bro you may be getting old, my dad had that surgery last year. Except it was his upper back and not his neck. Something else to look forward too as I get older.

I had the same surgery in 97, but with hip bone instead of titanium plate. The scar is a little lower than yours, but not very noticeable. Good luck on your recovery. Hope it fixed your problem. Never had any problems since my surgery.

It looks like the doctors did a good job with the incision, I'm sure you will heal well and soon. What did they give you for pain? percs. Take it easy and lets hope the vols win today and it's not as painful to watch. go vols go!!!!!

All I can say is OUCH! Good luck on your recovery. As far as the staples, I have had them used once and it wasn't so bad to me. Kinda like sleet on a real windy day. That stuff they use that is like superglue is awesome. Had that when they had to repair some torn muscles in my side. It just goes away.

I had debated whether or not to post this on the board or not, but I am glad I did. If anyone has ever been on pain medication for an extended period of time it tends to make you feel a little depressed. After reading everyone's posts, I feel much much better, especially after a UT loss today. You guys are very classy and I am proud to associate with such great Vol fans and friends.

hehe What sort of jerks would we be if we said junk like "I hope you're in a lot of pain"

Volunteer, you've been a board member here for a long time, your contributions to what we have here can't be measured. Sounds like you're going to have to quit the water sports? Hope not, but if you do... I hope you find another hobby you enjoy just as much. :biggrin2:
