My, my, has the mood changed so quickly.

We have a better chance of winning the SEC East than beating Auburn.

I'm pretty sure we're either currently mathematically eliminated from winning the East or we will be if we lose to Auburn.

Basically by definition we have to have a better chance of beating Auburn than winning the East. :hi:

On a side note, when will Missouri ever get any credit for the win?

Anyway you're still missing the point. It isn't about whether they deserve any critizism, it's how everyone was saying how good they are now and how Butch got his sig win but now people are saying they suck and not sold on Butch. So which is it? Do they suck or just had a bad game? People just need to make up their minds :banghead2::loco::)

Are you kidding? People are already ripping Auburn for being overrated.

They gave up about 60 and how many did we give up?

51 I think. But we can't score so it doesn't matter. Vandy will want this game more than us. We typically check out mentally this time of year anyway. In fact I'm pretty sure our players are already thinking more about which New Year's party to attend than who our next opponent is.

I wonder how many fans actually pay attention to the landscape of cfb on a weekly basis.

Two weeks ago we upset SCe and then they turned around and beat Missouri who turned around and whipped us. Does this make us all even or does this just go to show you each week in football is different and anything can happen?

I'm so tired of hearing how great bUTch is when we are making strides and then have to bad games and we are awful again.

Let's see in 5 days when we upset Auburn at home and how drastically the rumblings on volnation are

Bingo.

It was an upset; happens almost every week. Ole Miss upset LSU; they deserved the win but I doubt anyone thinks Ole Miss is actually better than LSU.

Oh snap I totally forgot the first rule of VolNation

IMHO, there needs to be changes in the OL. Bullard is the guy I see getting beat the most and unfortunately James. None of them show much "nasty" except maybe Fulton. Do they "suck"? No. They have talent... they just aren't applying it. When I have people like that... They either get going or get gone.

Allowing guys who aren't performing to go on and on is a disease you never want infecting your team. It kills morale and in the end benefits no one concerned.

I don't think the OC called a bad game. I am not angry that Dobbs made mistakes even though you could say they contributed greatly to the loss. He was also about the only bright spot on O. The OL played poorly IMO... that is well under their ability. ALOT of standing around. For once, I'd like to see one of them get flagged for blocking after the whistle.

I am VERY disappointed and disillusioned by the performance of the D and D coaches. Mizzou has played a WEAK schedule. They had their 2nd highest rushing total vs UT... basically on one, very simple play... a sweep usually to the left. Nothing tricky. Just guys consistently leaving cut back lanes, over running the play, or getting pushed 6-8 yards downfield before making a tackle.

That isn't a speed problem. It is a problem of coaching and player discipline.... and toughness. The MU's SLOW OL just flat out toughed UT's front 7.

Couldn't have said it any better myself...good post. :hi:

The train out of Vol Land will be full on Saturday. The train will bring them back after the 2nd game next year. Wonder where they go.

I hate to say this but I agree with you. The effort this team played with saturday was awful. If we come out like that against Auburn it will be over by halftime and probably get ugly. I hope it don't happen but to be honest I kinda lost a little faith in our guys Saturday. I've watched the gm 3 diffrent times and you can really see a lot of guys quitting on us in that gm.

I sure hope our players don't read much on here this week.

If they do and they believe it they'll have the mindset that they're already beaten by allBarn and will lose to Vandy too and miss a bowl game again this season.

It's a well known and proven fact that those that Win the most and are very Successful in business always have a "can do" and a Positive Mental Attitude no matter what's placed in front of them as a challenge.

This team HAS simply OVERachieved this year against both UGa and USCe despite the well known fact that we do NOT have the player talent or the quality depth to be able to compete against those 2 very good SEC teams.

It was pure and simple luck that UGa escaped without a Loss to our footVol team.

Do don't have the talent, speed or depth to matchup against most SEC teams YET but there's always a chance to overachieve again and get 2 or 3 more Wins and make it to a bowl game which is so very important to the total rebuilding of our program.

THINK...We have 14 or 15 Early Entries coming in from this recruiting class and when we make a Bowl game all those new players will get some much needed practice and learning time while we prepare for the bowl game and that early practice, knowledge and experience will help those young kids be better prepared for next Spring practice and maybe get some of those awesome players up to speed fast enough that they can be helpful next season.

AllBarn already had some really good players but they had a crap coach but now those good players have a good coach so rebuilding that team of much better talented players was a much faster and easier rebuilding job than we have at Tennessee.

Despite all that we could overachieve again and get another unexpected Win just like we did against USCe and like we should have gotten against UGa.

The game hasn't been played yet so until they prove they can beat us I'll understand that the odds are far against us but I also know that we always have a chance to pull a big upset.

Our line is talented enough to be one of the very best, but the question to ask our coaches is why are we trying to run block out of a standing pass block stance? Put their hand on the ground lower their pad level and move people.

This.

I've noticed several times on run plays the o-line is setting up with the shoulder pads raised, giving them a high center of gravity, and they are getting pushed all over the place. Missouri did it all night.

If we lose to "AllBarn", it will be because they are the better team; it's not going to be because some people posted what you consider negative things on the internet.

The funniest part to me are the ones who whine about the "NegaVols" before the game, then after they immediately do a 180 complaining about how they are sick of the losing and start questioning the coach.

And then by Friday they are back on the orange-colored glasses train, and back to whining about anyone who doesn't "believe".
