10-2 is good. I'll take it and be thankful

Better than the previous regimes. We will still have another off season of hearing 1998 forever and poverTy from the trolls like Uncle Lou. They should use the troll comments as locker room ammo.

Fact is a better team just beat us yesterday. Tennessee screwed up when they lost to Arkansas.

Gotta beat vandy, but I agree. I picked 9-3, I'll take 10-2, just hate losing to Georgia.
Georgia (and a winning a Championship in general) seems to be the last hurdle that Heupel hasn't overcome.

It hasn't helped that Heupel's better teams caught Georgia in Athens. You really need to ask why Tennessee didn't play them better in 2023.

Block trolls, enjoy UT football for what it is. We are still building after years of crap.

The good news is that Heupel and co continue to get better and better talent in.

Stings now but I still feel like we are in a good position as a program. We could be Auburn right now.

Beating Vanderbilt is not a given.

If we do, 10-2 is certainly better than the Dooley, Butch, and Pruitt years. No argument on that point. But this is just so utterly disappointing to (yet again) pi$$ away an incredible opportunity, This isn’t just about losing to Georgia on a huge stage. It’s about no-showing against a mediocre Arkansas team earlier in the year. Had we actually taken care of business, there isn’t much of a concern with being left out of the playoffs. It’s also about undisciplined penalties, dropped passes, an elite defense picking the biggest game of the year to take two or three steps backward, and an offense that can’t get out of their own way.

This is what this program does: we shrink away when there is a lot on the line. Even big wins against Alabama, a favorable schedule overall, and catching Oklahoma on a down year get flushed down the drain. Meh. It’s just who we are at this point. It’s a hurdle we have to get over if we want to win it all. So far, we ain’t there.

On the positive side, we have the best situation that we’ve had since Fulmer left. Hopefully, this staff and program can grow beyond their current ceiling. I don’t think it happens next year though. Does anyone think the O-line will be better? Or that the defense will be as good as it has been for most of this year? Will our receivers be better? I’d like to think that Nico will be better, but if everything else is the same or a bit less, how does that show up in terms of results?

I think we played a pretty good game against a team, which if they play like they did last night probably wins another championship. We are getting there. We played hard. Hate to say it, but adjustments in game, Smart>JH. Couldn’t find a way for our biggest strength to impact the game….

This x 1000.

I hate this forum after losses, and don't generally come on until later in the week. All the trolls who lost bets or are dreading being trash talked by their buddies or co-workers taking their frustrations out on a team and program that by rights has overachieved in the short time White and Heupel have been here.

It's incredible to me how anyone can take for granted where we are as a program given the decade and a half before CJH arrived, and I have to believe it's a tiny part of the fan base, who all unfortunately find their way here to take out the frustrations of their miserable lives. We are a borderline elite program that is getting better year by year, and last night was a message that we aren't quite at the mountaintop yet.

We got beat by a better team on the road, a team that has a recent national title pedigree. They are the benchmark. You don't get better by blowing everything up after every loss, but that's what many fools here want to do. Like you said, block trolls and stay the hell off social media and bullschiit national media shows. Works for me.

What makes anyone think we’re going to get any fairer officiating in Nashville? Vanderbilt beat one of the teams who beat Georgia.

Thank goodness for some sanity. Like a beacon of light in the dark, wilderness of VN….

On a positive note, most competitive we have been with UGA in several years, and they played their best game in several weeks. It is just one game. We had not enough pressure up front on D and some missed opportunities on O for sure. Could be different game on a different day. We have a chance to get in, but we aren’t in top 8 and wouldn’t be in under old way either. Let’s finish strong take care of Vandy and hope for a small chance we get a do over!

Yes, losses like last night sting. The reason it does it Heupel has the team very competitive again. Try to think back to some of the Dooley years. No one cared about losses back then because blowouts were guaranteed and considered normal.

I'll take now over those dark days.

100% correct. Sometimes I'm overly critical of Josh but it's great that we're to the point of being disappointed with a 9-10 win season.

No pressure on Beck was one of the main reasons for the loss. Winning in Athens, Tuscaloosa, Baton Rouge has been tough for many years but you still have to get pressure of the QB to have a chance.
