So I just returned from a trip to Gulf Shores Alabama for a wedding. Our connecting flight landed from Atlanta in Pensacola where my Florida rent-a-car awaited. My wife laughed at the look on my face when I kicked the Florida plate on the back of it. We then set out of the airport to make the 45 minute journey along the coast to the resort.
Upon leaving the airport I began to notice things. Trailor parks, gator flags, mail boxes, trailor parks, a few necks hanging out at the gas station slurping Busch, trailor parks, and ect... When we crossed over into Bama, the road improved, but the scenery did not. More of the same until we reached the coastal highway. There are some awesome looking resorts in that part of the state and I was happily impressed to see the reason I started the thread.
Just before reaching our resort, there was a series of very elaborate homes on the right hand side of the road. Easily 300K homes with lawns that went on for days, fountains, lavish autos parked in the driveway, ect... As we got closer to the driveway I noticed something that just seemed right. There standing at the corner of the driveway was a big Orange cut out of the state of Tennessee with an inscription on it.
It read, "When you turn in here, you're in Vol Country. If that dosent suit you stay your ass on the highway."
