Let’s face it, everything that went wrong in Omaha was just a lot of pure bad luck.

Everything hit hard in the Virginia game just happened to be hit straight at their infielders and they were reaction catches.

Then in the Texas game we had two questionable calls that both went against us (out at first and then safe at home).

With the above being said and the knowledge that baseball is one of the most superstitious sports, I propose that it was bad Ju Ju to repaint the rock so quickly after they won the regional in Knoxville and that bad Ju Ju followed the team to Om a ha (remember to use your diaphragm and use 3 syllables when you say it).

By the way, I will use the same logic if it is announced the CTV leaves and goes to LSU.

It was bad Peyton ju ju and everybody knows it.

They looked scared to me, like a deer in headlights. Maybe the stage was just too big, made them too nervous, or the spotlight was too bright.

In the previous few weeks, you didn't see our pitchers miss near as many pitches as you did in those two games, especially Cheese. You also didn't see our guys leave so many RISP.

Just seemed like they were scared to lose and played too tight.

The games were 'away games' ... and a big stage.
The ball players were not ready for the limelight. (Sometimes you have to get on the stage, before you are READY to perform on the stage) As an actor, Dress rehearsal is always messy. After you have been on stage a time or two. The stage is familiar and not so scary.
They did not watch enough tape ... the whole team.
  • The Va and Tx players came to bat with someone having watched a ton of film.
  • Did you see the jumps the VA players were getting on SH. (Watched tape and found a tell. jmo)
  • Repeatedly striking out players on high fastballs. (Tape)
Runners left on base : I am guessing because they were tight and 'trying not to make a out'.
We did not 'look' like the better team either day. We had our moments, but we just could not get the clutch hit and put them behind the eightball.

And there was some bad moments and great moments that worked against us:
Balls hit right at people (take wind out of the sails). Best hitter we had, hit .125 for the first 3/4 of the season, but every time he hit the ball it was a line drive at somebody. Nothing you can do about that. But it sure did take a toll on him and the team. Snake bitten.
Ball hits the front of the plate and gets the extra high bounce. (WP)
Catcher blocks the plate (mostly) and the runner is called safe ... I did NOT agreed with the call after I saw the replay. (Of course, I am a former catcher. With cleat marks on the knees to prove it.)
Third base umpire who was wound too tight.
We played better and more loose at home ... even though Wright State actually outplayed us.
We did not play very well with the 'favorite' mantel on our shoulders.
As a former coach, sometimes one play can swing the momentum and the train is out of the station and gone. Nothing you can do to recall it.
