As everyone on here has probably noticed, I will generally defend coaches to the death because it is a harder job than anyone who's never done it (like sarge) will ever understand. The pressure of knowing that the hopes and dreams of so many people ride on decisions you make in 10 seconds is incredible. The slapnuts have screamed about the playcalling all year. UT had more big plays Sat. than they have in a while and considering Randy is calling an offense with a mediocre arm as the gun, I still say he's done a good job calling the games (the fact that Bret Smith couldn't catch a cold naked in the snow doesn't help either.) I have to call something out this week, though. As an O-line coach it is hard for me to do this. I've tried to give them the benefit of the doubt because they've been banged up and there isn't a harder job in football than the O-line. The biggest problem that the offense in Knoxville has right now is that an O-line that should be dominant got their asses handed to them Sat. I've only met Coach Stevens once, so I really don't know what the issue is, but this is about as bad an O-line as I've seen wearing orange in a while. They simply do not drive drive anyone off the LOS. If you can't knock people off the LOS, it doesn't matter what any OC calls...it's always gonna be a long day when the O-line plays like theirs is playing right now because they can't run the ball.

You go ahead and sink with that RS ship Mikey. It is only going to get tougher to stay afloat.

JRS + RS = most underacheiving offense in UT history

yeah, ur wrong here mike. this coaching staff is under a rock right now.

college football has changed but they havent.

time to get with the new or we are gonna be a middle of the pack sec team. and let me tell u that, that will not be good enough in k-town. u can count on that.

some heads better be on the chopping block or these boosters will stop shelling out this money.

we are a top 10 program playing like a bunch of middle of the pack losers.

seems to me that we had a good decade in the 90s and now we have leveled back out.

hell maybe this is what we are.

i know one thing to. mark richt is 100% better coach than fulmer will ever be.

I have listened to all the SLAPNUT $**T from you that I care to hear...You obviously dont know squat about football..You must have just started being a fan about 5 yrs ago so this crappy offense is all you know..I have been around here for at least 25yrs a half a dozen or so OC's and RS blows chunks...His offensive scheme is so stale it has Moss growing on it...The graphic CBS showed last night even showed this team has the lowest offensive output since 1964. I would think it would be hard to defend a guy that sets your program back to the damn 60's...

Thats a real good post about the O-line. What so bothers me about this is, Fulmer is a freaking ex offensive lineman. I expected as head coach he was going to bring in the best offensive lineman in the country, and we would regularly have the most dominant offensive line in the sec and the nation. Its happened on defense, whats the problem on the offensive side??

When I see things like this and the special teams play i question fulmers commitment and ability. When Majors was the head coach he became the special teams coach, we had great special teams play then. fulmer really dropped the ball.

I don't care what you care to hear. As far as being around football...I've been a coach for 20years...12 as an Oc and I am also the son and grandson of head coaches/OC's. I've spent more time in locker rooms and on fields than you'll ever dream of...so sit on your couch and in the stands for another 25 years and I'll still have more football knowledge in my pinky toenail than you'll ever have in your whole body...SLAPNUT!!!

I know a lot about football too! I have won about 100 national championships playing NCAA football on my playstation. I would like to think that I have more football knowledge since NCAA involves thumbs and they are obviously bigger than just one pinky toenail.

I guess this is a bad time to break out that the fact Randy Sanders has been around football almost as long as you and if you compare your knowledge to his about football, then you points are now voided.

That was going to be my point, there are plenty of coaches (many might argue that Sanders is one) who have been around football their entire life....but that doesn't make them an effective coach. If it was true you would never see any experienced coaches get fired.
