So here is what I thought last night after taking my son to Neyland for the first time.

1. AP came out ready to play. Their players were hyped up the whole game. They schemed well on O and I think it messed with our D.

2. The Vols seemed flat. The engery was not there during warmups or on the sidelines. I think the combo of the delay start and looking forward to FL.

3. The refs were horrible and the crowd let them know. Honestly I think it gave the team a bit of a boost in the 3rd. The D was fired up around there.

4 The crowd was great. It was LOUD at times. Considering the opponent, the TN fans were there in full force.

5. I have a couple of things that worry me after watching warmups. Of the 3 QBs I watched, Nico was the least accurate. I know it’s warmups but there were a lot of missed throws. Field goals may be an issue. Again saw alot of misses.

All in all, I’m happy with the win. Good first game experience for my son. Already looking forward to the next one. Hope the team figures out their issues before next weekend and we have another good season.

I was there too and I agree with you on mostly everything one thing I will add is a lot of people are blaming Milton and what I noticed he was pretty decent. The receivers had stone hands last night.

Edit: Nico has a hurt wrist so maybe that was messing his accuracy up if it’s on his throwing hand

Players change when the lights come on. Clausen is a good example of that. Not to mention Nico is right out of HS too.
