1) I think we are better than last year. The D looked really good. Our limit will be determined by our OL. If they out perform, look out.

2) If we take care of business in the Swamp then the BIGGEST GAME OF THE YEAR SO FAR will be on the 3rd Saturday of October.

3) We will never know how good Georgia is until we play them. How do they play the weakest schedule in the NATION every single year?

4) Heupel is a sneaky devil. Our punter looked bad. But apparently he can do some things that other punters can't. I'm dying to see how Heupel uses this.

5) I wondered all year why everyone was so high on LSU. They looked just like the team that Tennessee humiliated last year.

6) Because of so much talk about the Bama QB. Remember. Sabin doesn't need a super star QB. Give him one that can run the O with no mistakes and that's all he needs. You need proof. He did it with Greg McElroy a few years ago.

7) This should be a fun year.

Hard to replace what HH gave last year. The D does look better.

I am not sold just yet. If we easily handle the Gators in the swamp then I will be sold on this team. I saw a few too many mistakes for my liking on Saturday. Too many dropped passes, too many over throws, but the defense and running game looked good.

The punt game worried me. Looked ..awkward.
Looking forward to seeing improvements

I chalk it down to first game jitters. Looked awfully familiar to last years first game offensively. Looked way better in the second half

I think Heupel needs to get Milton some more live game throws this week, especially over the middle. I realize he didn’t want to open up the play book much but Milton needs to be ready to make some pass plays against Florida. They will be stacking the box to shut down the run unless they’re stupid.

Oh, they're stupid alright. They announced a Blue Out for our game and ... 21,000 phone calls came into the UFAD asking the school to post a stadium seating chart, so they'd know what to wear.

First game with no real action against another team since the Orange Bowl. We gradually distanced ourselves from Virginia. Another tune up game and I think we'll be ready to go.

Tennessee has never easily handled the Gators in the swamp. Ever. So that metric isn't really useful. A 1 point win down there in two weeks will have us 3-0.

You and I have the same thinking. The defense was lights out and the running game looked incredible, but we also played UVA—one of the worst teams in the ACC, if not the worst. The Florida game will be the true test. Yes they got stomped by Utah, but it’s still Florida and it’s still the Swamp.

I thought our D was better although I don't know how bad Virgina really is. Milton cause a couple issues that Hooker would have given us 14 points on (not that we needed it). But all in all for a 1st game I thought it was great.

I'm willing to give that a pass given we lost our QB and top 2 WRs. If you look back at the last 10 1st games this one was one of if not the best.

Seems like everyone is looking past A&M. Florida will be a good acid test. But it isnt smooth sailing until we get to Bama. We have the USCjr rematch and a better A&M team before Bama.

Could it be his arm? I read he can pass pretty good. That might be a good secret to have in critical games.

Just curious as to what issues there where that Hooker could have given us 14 more points

Keytons drop was 7 points and had bru got a foot inbounds there's another 7

UVA's plan was to take away the deep ball, so they didn't blitz us or stack the box hardly at all. Its why we didn't take many shots. Instead we focused on the run game and the short game, which is good. Milton can throw it a mile but dink and dunk has never been his game, so to see him do that was encouraging. I anticipate that APSU will attempt to do the same (because they want us to bleed out instead of nail the big play and score quickly). We should see much of the same this Saturday.

However, I don't anticipate that their DL will be as good as UVA's. This is a pretty awful APSU team. We should win in a thrashing. But I would anticipate that we beat coverage more often and get some deep shots to try to clean that up before Florida. But I would think our running and short game will be featured more so than landing the big plays.

Secret weapon this year is going to be Castles. The one catch that guy made....you just know, he is gonna be special.

I'm very encouraged by what we did on Saturday. I don't know if Heupel will stop the train at 56 points or just keep going, but we could pretty easily hang 70 on these guys if we so desired.

Kinda like the dropped pass by Keyton that would have gave us 7 right?

My thoughts on the first week

1. UT took care of business
2. Congrats to Deion - he demonstrated that using the portal is the great equalizer in college football and, what some attitude can do for a struggling program.
3. Kudos to FSU. Dominant game and put Kelly in his place.
4. The REAL Carolina won - so no more talk on how big the Cocks are this year
5. Duke you groovy BlueDevils. BOOM - Down goes Dabo and Clemson!
6. Florida who? Reptile dysfunction happening in Gainesville. Gonna need a couple dozen or more blue pills to stop the Vols in two weeks

Our first week jitters are over. Lots of smiles in Knoxville and here on VN. More of the same coming this weekend!!
